Charming and Comfortable Hotel in Bagan

If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in Bagan that’s in a great location for seeing the pagodas, near all the restaurants, with comfy, clean rooms then look no further! We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Zein. They even let us use one of the rooms in the evening after we’d checked out as we had a night bus to Kalaw and wanted to freshen up. Really helpful, friendly staff! We rented e-bikes for a good price every day and the breakfast was also really tasty. Thank you for having us! 😃

Perfect location for exploring Bagan

A friend and I stayed in deluxe double rooms at Hotel Zein for three nights while visiting Bagan. The rooms exceeded my expectations. Clean, comfortable, hot showers. Unbeknownst to us our stay coincided with a full festival so the breakfast room was full to capacity but there was plenty of food and everyone happily shared tables.

Great location and lovely staff

Lovely location..and smiling people who run the hotel.. but oh I wish they had a running kitchen apart from the breakfast spread!
A great deal of effort went into making the rooms comfy..but a couple of points..the bed should have bed side tables on both the sides and not just one.
Next the bathroom is very efficient but does need a shower curtain as all the toiletries on the wash basin get soaked when one has a shower.
The staff were extremely helpful and receptive when I suggested the above improvements.
Cant wait to revisit to see if they have been implemented. 

A great place

Please! Please the guests! That seemed to be the motto of this small hotel. Not a single person I saw in the Hotel did not have a smile on her/his face (it was mostly her, the hotel seemed to be run by only ladies).
Large clean rooms, with minimalistic, but adequate furniture, which made the rooms look and feel large.
The only two misgivings I have about the hotel is that they do not have a restaurant, the nearest eating place is more than 10 minutes walk away, and there was no shower curtain in the bathroom, which wet the major part of the bathroom after a shower.
The breakfast is a buffet with good choice.

A Great Place to Stay In Bagan!

Fuss free communication during booking, was talking with Ei during reservation. She settled everything including pickup at the bus station. We arrived early and were allowed to eat breakfast at a minimal fee, breakfast spread is not much but is more than enough, also allowed us to check in early. I just want to commend also all the staff, they are always ready to help and always smiling. You can get their assistance with everything including car and tuktuk booking and their rates are good.

Location is good, you can walk around, it's also quite near the market. The rooms are very spacious with comfortable beds, toiletries were provided, bottled water, everyday. Really there's nothing else you can ask for. We had a great time staying there. 

Just also want to mention that there is a simple eatery across the hotel on the main road. They sell shan noodles, very cheap and delicious.

I was impressed with Ei, one of the sisters running this hotel, even before i arrived. She promptly responded to all my email enquiries and always offered more than i asked. They let me have breakfast and check in early at 6am. All the staff smiled all the time and were very helpful. The driver for my half day pagoda tour was arranged by hotel and he was husband of the other sister. He spoke very good English just like all other hotel staff and gave me a lot of info around Bagan and pagoda as well as Myanmar history. And thank god!! He found my sunglasses i lost in the car and returned it to hotel late at night. I enjoyed everything about this hotel..great location, clean and spacious room, genuine smiles of staff, etc. With all these advantages, the room rates are unbelievably cheap! I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bagan. Thank you everyone at Hotel Zein!!

Strongly recommend this hotel!!

Owner speaks fluent English and staff are friendly.  Rent ebike with reasonable price (80K kyatt) for 2 person ebike.  Arranged airport transfer with reasonable price. Location is convenient. Room is clean and has working AC.  Nothing to complaints. Highly recommended and will stay here again if come back to Bagan.

Best stay  in Bagan

I stayed there for 3 nights and this hotel is convenient and the location itself close everything. More than the property, the staff in the hotel is very nice. They are very helpful and and always assist you while you stay there. The hotel also has an ebike for you to rent .They can arrange the bus to go to other destinations and pick you up at the hotel. Overall for my stay is really good.

Great experience in Bagan

I can honestly say this has been my best hotel experience in Myanmar over the past 3 weeks. My room was very clean, hot water was plentiful, WiFi was decent (better than most places I’ve stayed), daily complementary bottled water, mini fridge and the staff were very helpful (they can assist with ordering local food delivery if requested). 

Please note the location of the hotel; you will want to rent an e-scooter to get around to Bagan and all the temples. This brings me to the only slight “negative” of my stay; the scooters the hotel rents out (at a fare price) really need to be maintained better. The brakes on both of the ones I rented were worn down and definitely needed to be replaced (had a close call once when the brakes weren’t responsive enough). I would prefer that they charge a higher rental fee and ensure the scooters are completely safe to ride. I mentioned this to the staff as well so I hope the issue is addressed for future guests. 

Overall, my stay was excellent and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
