At the hotel

The casually elegant Strand Café, a warm and welcoming respite from the bustle of the Yangon Road, is open all day for coffee, pastries or a light lunch of Western or traditional Myanmar cuisine. The Strand Café is also home to the famous Strand High Tea, which has been preserved and expanded to include Myanmar delicacies. As part of the 2016 refurbishment of the hotel, the café’s traditional rattan furniture and black lacquer ceiling fans have been complemented with a new colour scheme, accented in the t raditional Burmese longyi uniforms of the staff.

The Strand Restaurant presents a beautiful main dining room, which seats 45, as well as a private dining room for 10 guests.

As the finale of the complete renovation and upgrade of The Strand Yangon, a new leisure resort space was opened up to the rear of the historic 1901 building in November 2017. A shaded and fragrant 800 m2 garden has been created beyond a new 18m by 8m swimming pool. A teak wood terrace frames the pool, offering space for 35 loungers, as well as four private pool cabanas and tables for al fresco all-day dining for up to 48 guests.

The Strand Yangon has 6 superior suites, 11 deluxe suites, 14 executive suites and one Strand suite. As part of the 2016 renovation project, the interiors of the hotel’s 32 light and airy rooms and suites had their traditional décor complemented with vintage inspired textiles and original artwork, updated with modern air-conditioning systems and the latest in-room technology.
