Stayed 1 night in May19 as part of my visit to Nepal. Large triple room. Hotel is undergoing expansion as a new building is coming up next to the one we stayed. No inconveniences though during our stay. Staff were helpful and the view from the room balcony was great. Buffet dinner and Breakfast was good. 

Tranquil hotel

Start my first time in Nepal by spent our first night here. The hotel's quite moderate and old and not well maintained. Luckily, our room has a private balcony which could see morning scenery. Therefore this still lifted us up more satisfied with our a night of stay.

Best view even at the night time

I stayed here on a tour. The staff seemed friendly and the rooms were nice with good blankets and lots of outlets. The balcony overlooking the Himalayas was perfect for watching the sunrise. The room was really cold, though, as the heat barely worked. There were two lights in the room, which didn't work, and the towels were very dingy. The dining room was exceptionally cold, partly because they seemed to insist on keeping the doors open. Because of that, the food did not stay hot on the plate. All of us wore our jackets to dinner in order to stay warm.

Must like the cold

Stayed here for a night through a local travel agent. Got a room on the floor with the terrace. Sheets felt unclean and the extra thick blanket was musky. Toilet was damp and mouldy. Staff were very obliging and friendly though. Generally the place needs a good cleaning up. Okay if guess for a night.

Needs a good clean, wonderful staff

This is an expensive hotel for Nepal, but is not remotely worth the money.   The staff are unwelcoming and unhelpful.  Upon our arrival, no offer to help with luggage, no information about the WiFi, no information about meals, and no explanation about the heating system.  We learned later that the heat is not available until 6:00 pm, which was unfortunate for us because we arrived wet and cold after a trek through the rain.  When the heat is turned on, it is full blast and you cannot adjust it.  The room itself was ok, but only two worn out bath towels; no hand towels; decrepit bathroom.  The water never got hot. Terrible fluorescent lights and no other lighting.   Three twin beds lined up like a dorm room.  The food is by buffet at a set time only and is mediocre.  We had planned to stay two nights but fled after one.  

Run down hotel with poor service

Stayed here for 2 nights from Oct 26 ~ 27, 2018.

We were told we'll be staying in a 4-star resort, and this establishment was a very dated 2-star, at best.  Turned out this place was not what we had paid for / agreed upon months back (which is between us and the agency).  We only realized the morning after, and were not given an option to switch.  No issue; will just review as is.

We were in rooms 110, 111, and 112 - 3x side-by-side twin-rooms in a separate structure from the main building.  Each ensuite was very basic, and came with a sprawling connecting balcony overlooking the Himalayan peaks and sunrise which was an absolute treat.  No matter that there was no tv or fridge in our rooms, as hot shower worked fine through day and night.  The main struggle we had was with the owner and staff; the former was rude, obnoxious, and self-absorbed, while the latter was utterly ill-trained.

Upon our evening arrival after an 18-km trek, we were thoroughly exhausted and famished.  Yet one of my travelling companions was motioned by the owner to step aside so as to make way for him to pass.  Incredulous!  Next, we were told buffet-style dinner would be served at 1900, but it was 1940 when the first dishes were served.  Even then, we were stopped from feeding under the claim that none of the cloched food was ready.  It was apparent to us that the staff were prioritizing the horde of mandarin-speaking guests from a neighboring country who had just arrived via a comfortable coach, which was of course, completely stupid, ridiculous, and unacceptable.  Neither impressed nor deterred, we rightfully helped ourselves to the piping-hot dishes.

Then, the staff informed us that breakfast starts at 0800, right after he first spilled that it starts at 0700.  We were up early the next morning for sunrise, but decided to only show up for breakfast at 0745.  By then, breakfast buffet has clearly been served to and cleared by the horde of Chinese guests, to almost zilch remaining in each closh.  We ended up mostly being served rationed single-serving cold leftovers for both mornings of our stays, even though each of us paid for 3x buffet meals for 2 straight days.

PS:  A bottle of Everest beer here costs a whopping Rp 550, while Nepal Ice (much smoother and slightly stronger) from a nearby convenience store costs only Rp 300.  Also, the communal washroom in the main building (right next to the dining area) is much nicer than the private ones in our ensuite rooms; go figure.
