We stayed at another hotel, but we came to restaurant here at New Dragon to eat. Our tourist group had 11 members. 

Restaurant was empty, except for two polite guys from restaurant. We sat and ordered food and drinks. Prices are OK for Nepal, but everything looked creepy and deserted. Kitchen also looked like a scene from serial killer movies. 

But then came the surprise. One boy brought fresh chicken from village. Other boy is chef, and he prepared some of the best food we ate on Nepal. We left this place with full bellies and sorry that we had doubts based on looks of this place. We came here two more times as a group to eat, and although boys are slow when taking orders and preparing meals, everything is fresh and tastes like in luxurious restaurants. 

I highly recommend eating here! 

Pleasantly surprised 

We got a double with large Windows on two walls for 800- wonderful bright views!  But the stinker was the toilet ( I wiped off some suspiciously fecal looking matter off the seat) and the hard bed.  Also we were alarmed as during the day staff and three other men tried to get into our room. I surprised them by opening the door in their faces. Did not feel comfortable and only stayed one night.

When I was walking with my couple to Nagarkot, at 7p.m., I got a little bit lost on the road that goes there. It came a bus, and inside the bus there was a boy/man, with alcohol breath, insisting brazenly that we had to go to his hotel. I never discuss with anybody, but in this case it was so hard to get away from him. That boy/man was from the hotel. I didn't go there, so I do not really know anything else appart of it, but I wanted to keep in here my experience.

Very upset because of some staff

We decided on Hotel New Dragon on arrival via local bus to Nagarkot; we weren't impressed at all. Unfortunately it was our own doing in how we came to be in this place. After looking at some Rs. 500 a night places down the road, we were met by the very persistent owner/tout that was wanting us to stay for Rs. 1200. We negotiated him down to Rs. 600 a night on the basis of the outside of the hotel which looked half decent - a mistake on our behalf for not checking the room first. The room he assigned us was entirely substandard, dark, musty and dirty with large gaps in the windows big enough to let the mosquitos in. And no hot water. When asked whether we could take the room at the front with the views he replied "these rooms are reserved". We didn't see anyone staying in these rooms apart from several of the family members whom were clearly sleeping in the hotel rooms designated for guests. At night it was loud with tv's blaring and these family members moving around the hotel.  We were out of there as soon as possible the next morning (5am). Yeah, we didn't pay much for a room but there are many other budget guesthouses around that can provide you with a clean fresh room and nicer atmosphere to live in. 

Worst hotel of the trip

Recommended by Lonely Planet...
I went there and it was just horrible... Dirty room, staff unfriendly, no hot shower, noise all night long, you have the impression to disturb the manager everytime you ask something even when you just want to order food....

The food is correct but you can find far better for low price in Eco hotel which is just on the other side of the street.

To conclude, don't go there you can find far better.
