It was a great pleasure to stay at the hotel. We were 5 couples and all found the hotel beautiful. The rooms are clean and modern especially the bathroom . The location is gorgeous in the middle of Apeldoorn. Everyone was friendly and supportive! Breakfast was nice, the coffee or cappuccino best in class! Ok, no elevator available and the stairs upstairs are steep, on the other hand it‘s the character of the old building.

Gorgeous to stay here

Hotel is located in the main square and on top of one of their restaurant. There also lots of restaurants and shops along the main street. Train station is around 10 mins walk, but there are bus stations nearby. You can take the bus to Giethoorn (via Zwolle) and Nationale Park De Hoge Veluwe. This is also the reason I picked this city.

The room is newly renovated, bed and pillow is very comfortable. Bathroom is new and clean with a hairdryer. Big enough to put my big suitcase, and store my stuff. They even have a coffee machine. I think I'm in a 5-star! They don't have staff managing the reception desk, but all the staff (waiter and waitress) can help. You don't need to wait long to get help from one of the staff. They are very friendly and helpful. 

Things you need to aware, the hotel don't have lift, you need to carry luggage through a steep staircase to 2nd floor. Luckily, the staff assist as well. Although the sound proof is not good, it only have a few rooms there, it is not a big matter. There are also noise from the restaurants in the square. To me, it is fine because it won't till mid-night.

They have 2 restaurants, one is casual 'Cafe de Paris', one is fine dining 'Spicebrush de Proeverij'. I tried both. Food are so good, and not expensive.

Apeldoorn is a lovely small city. There is not many point of interest, but it is good to stay there and explore the surrounding. I love to come back!

Love the hotel, love the restaurant, love the city

The hotel is located Apeldoorn downtown, close to everything. The service is full of polite people, which are easy to deal with. The room is relatively big, but there’s no fridge inside all of them. I stayed in two different rooms, and there was a fridge in one of them only. The breakfast is amazing, with eggs, omelettes, fruit and bread. The hotel is also a restaurant, which serves a special food. I recomend both.

Good service, without fridge inside the room

Had a fabulous welcome from the staff. We left our bags at reception while we were shown where the cycle garage was. Came back and checked in. We were shown to our room by the most helpful lady. She and another member of staff carried our bags up the stairs to our room. We were at the back of the hotel. Our room was big and the bathroom massive. It also had a bath which was great after a days cycling. Hotel is right bang in the middle of town which was perfect. Very clean. Plenty of hot water. We ate in the restaurant for the two evenings of our stay. Food was amazing and a good price. We would definitely stay again if we're in the area and would certainly recommend

Holiday stop

What a great and affordable Hotel.Room was very spacious and very clean. We were made very welcome and the Hotel is in the centre of town and only a short walk to the train station, that has direct service into Amsterdam.Brilliant stay .

Netherlands 2022

Fantastic bedroom with a nice view over the market and food square. Excellent staff who all look very smart. I would highly recommend having the breakfast. Lovely bar/restaurant area and we enjoyed the food/drink. In the heart of Apeldoorn, not too far from the train station. I would definitely stay here again

Outstanding

On entering the hotel were were met with very friendly staff who showed us to our room. As others have observed the stairs are steep,quite normal for older properties in Netherlands. Room was very warm and bed comfy. Plenty of pillows, nice tea making facilities and with recently refurbished bathroom with a really great hot shower. With a very good price it's a hotel I would be happy to stay in again.

Nice friendly hotel with great shower.

When visiting Appledoorn I always try to stay here. The hotel is average in appearance but has a very friendly atmosphere and is ideal for accessing the amenities of the town. Rooms are modern and clean. I always enjoy my stay here. Staff are young but very attentive.

Very enjoyable small hotel

We visit restaurants in this city often & since my last review of this “cafe” , I must say this time was far from as bad as the first. My ribs were amazing and I recommend the dish 100%. My partner ordered the “Thai chicken salad” & it was not too bad but way too watery 🥴 (see picture below). The servers still need more training for sure as they are very cold & inhospitable but otherwise, overall, it was pretty good.

booked one night on a business trip. The hotel is in downtown, but during weekdays, downtown seems pretty empty. We had difficulties to enter because of the huge tent in front of the building. The rooms were in the second floor and the stairs must be from a ship. short steps and very steep angle. When you climb with a suitcase..be careful.
You've to pay upfront in the restaurant and they are charging 11€ for breakfast. We've had dinner at the restaurant, that was ok, even if orders were misunderstood a little.
The rooms were ice cold (heater fully closed), bathroom had no heating, I believe. 
You can have a reduced price parking nearby for 7€ a day
