We were delighted with our stay.  Due to unforseen circumstances meant we got upgraded and the team made every effort to accommodate our needs as a group.  Very attentative and friendly staff.  Highly recommend for a quiet, relaxing stay.
Facilities were clean and functional at excellent rates.

Well looked after..

Just out of Te Anau this cabin offers a unique experience every thing you need for a special get away. Up graded cabin with all facilities. Wonderful hosts well worth a visit.On the road to Milford Sound.

A very special cabin

We stayed on 21/3/2020 the night before our milford sound tour. The gentleman that checked us in said they were slow so they upgraded our room to a studio overlooking the garden. What a nice room, very roomy with cooking facilities and a spacious bathroom. We ate there that night and i had a lovely meal of lamb with a complimentary glass of beer. The same gentleman that checked us in also waited on us and checked us out the next day, sorry i did not get his name, but a great person. If you want quiet and rest i think this is the place. The tour bus for Milford sound picked us up right there and dropped us back off there.

We stayed here for one night before a planned trip to the Milford Sound. Unfortunately the Milford Sound road was closed due to flooding so we had to change our plans and visited the Doubtful Sound instead. Trish, the manager, sorted everything out for us. The receptionist was lovely when we checked in and we had great service and food in the restaurant. What makes this place extra special is the views of the lake and mountains around and the serenity. Not to mention the proximity to some lovely places in the Fiordland area. There’s a great walk you can do of lake mistletoe, with the start point immediately opposite the lodge. Even though we couldn’t get to Milford sound, we could still explore numerous lookout points and walks on the road up to cascade creek. We could’ve easily spent more time here if we had more time. Should also mention the rooms were very clean and room facilities great for what we needed. 

Lovely place to stay

I booked a room with a kitchen as it’s not near Town the only dining option is the lodges restaurant and prices are a bit steep so we did the shopping in Te Anau and cooked in the evenings. We got a stunning spacious room with lots of windows overlooking the lake. Every morning woke up to bunnies running outside and those stunning mountains and lake staring back! The staff are a delight! Housekeeping is efficient and the rooms were spotless every day, the receptionist that welcomed us after a nightmare drive (flooding and all) was probably the nicest hotel front of house staff I have EVER come across! Total all rounder!

Great staff, location, room... the lot!

Best break of rest location en route to Milford sound from Queenstown. It’s got very comfy rooms with very decent amenities & great service by staff. Stayed only one night on a cold winter day, but felt very relaxing and peaceful at the location. Advice to all travelers to have a full tank of fuel when leaving queenstown as there are only a limited amount of service stations on the way, especially after 7 pm. 

Amazing location en route to Milford Sounds

The location is stunning and beautiful. Loved the peace and quiet. The accommodation was far better than some of the places in Queenstown and much cheaper. Loved their in-house restaurant. The staff was quite friendly and nice. Highly recommend it to everyone travelling to Milford Sound.

Fiordland National Park Lodge - Te Anau Downs

Recently stopped here for 2 nights, to beat the traffic heading out to Milford Sound.we took a motel room with a clean useable kitchenette. The room was warm and cosy and bedding .This place is very good value for money. Oh yes the food at the cafe was very good, hearty and reasonably priced.....with a fire in the lounge.

Great value in a splendid area 

Amazing place, perfect location. Restaurant food was exceptional and not over priced. Room was very clean and comfy though just needs updating. Would definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone. (Between 1730-1830 a glass of wine free with meal).

Amazing restaurant and staff, (a hidden gem) accommodation needs updating.

We stayed in the cabin which was around 100 m from main building. It was OK but showed signs of reduced maintenance, e.g. very loose tap on kitchen sink. The main issue was the cabin was advertised as having internet but it didn't. We need internet as we had been out or range fro some days. We could get it outside half way to main building but this is not acceptable. It was also advertised as having a BBQ but it did not.  Finally the place filled with mosquitoes after dark. Admittedly we had door open and lights on but there should have been a note to warn about this and some bug spray available. Would not stay here again.
