Got to know the employees a bit during my stay. Excellent customer service, great breakfast and clean and tidy surroundings. Will come back next summer for our annual summer hiking trip in the mountains. Looking forward to test the sauna next time.

Great service and cool place

We got a clean and nice room with good space and colourful paintings on the wall. The staff treated all five of us as VIP and presented kanefart as an option during wintertime. We will go back there together with many more friends.

Impressing many nice painings

Once you step inside you are in a different decade, no doubt some of the hotel areas are dated, it’s a time capsule and in a way but lucky enough the concept of good service and cleanliness is not dated here. Very friendly staff, very clean over all specially the room, spacious and comfy rooms (as I understood our room was on one of the isles where they have not been renovated). We had a great restful night after having slept on camping grounds. Good WiFi. 
The price was affordable to be a hotel in high season in a popular area for three people and included a vast and very well served breakfast. 

When we arrived there were no guests but an hour later the hotel parking was full and in the morning many guests having breakfast, we booked in advance. 



Travel back in time 60/70’s? 

It was a pretty nice stay. Very friendly service. Breakfast and dinner buffet were farbulous.
The hotel itself looks a bit like from the 80s. Not my taste, but nothing to conplain. Price for a Double Room was fair.
Only the rooms were a bit dirty... 



Nice Stay

This place has a country / cowboy atmosphere. The hotel is very woody. The clerck looks like straight out from a danseband. Very nice guy / service. Warm courses could be better, but still, it was good. Rooms are big and cosy, and the view is pretty nice (Steinsetfjorden). Leira airstrip is located nearby. Lots of elks around, drive safely.

Country feeling

We had a booking there this summer, but had the same experience as Kitten M is describing. So we ended up leaving the first day and found a different place  (a perfect cabin in Vaset) to spend the weekend.

Not recommended

Where does one even start? We booked this hotel on short notice, and therefore didn’t look very carefully at the pictures and information.

First impressions were not good. We arrived at the hotel, whose garden is covered in tools and stuff, and the front door was locked with no one in sight. After a while, someone finally opens the door and we move to the reception. We say that we have booked a room, and the guy does not ask for my name or an ID, and instead just says that the key is in the door. The whole thing reeked of unprofessionalism.

So, maybe the rooms were okay? No, they were just the icing on this bad cake. The rooms looked they came right out of the sixties. The colors were tasteless, the design was atrocious, and everything was really shabby and slightly dirty. The smell of smoke lingered everywhere, a fact someone had tried to hide with cheap fragrance spray. The beds creaked and were hard. The place was in dire, dire need of renovation and care. The WiFi was worthless and disconnected at random sports around the room.

The hotel had a nice location at the lake, something which was ruined by the bad shape of the garden. The breakfast was okay, if bland and dry.

I can’t recommend this hotel to anyone, because it does not deserve to be called a hotel. It’s more of an expanded, smelly man cave.
