Best hotel breakfast I think I've ever had when it comes to the quality of the food. I have eaten breakfasts with more variety in bigger hotels, but the quality and preparation of the very well put together breakfast buffet here was extremely good.
Location is great for visiting Bjørneparken.
Staff is very friendly.
Dining area could be a bit warmer.
There could be a bit better sound proofing between the hallway and the rooms.

An amazing stay! The staff go above and beyond!

- gluten free options are vast for dinner and breakfast! 

Could be improved 
- the door, even when locked, could be opened by a toddler - this was slightly terrifying but is probably a fire safety feature! Just be aware

Fantastic stay (again!)

Just amazing! The staff went above and beyond at every opportunity. 
The room was comfortable, travel cot was requested and provided. 
My only bug bear was the neon lights outside the room! However, this was an exceptional stay and we will book again for next year.

Fantastic Staff

The best hotel in the area. They have a great service and friendly staff, great breakfast, clean and tidy rooms just perfect. I would like to thank them for making my day
They have a discount on the nearby zoo which was a plus since it is the main attraction in the area and the location is perfect

Best hotel

This was a family trip - my husband, our grandchild and myself. The hotel is a family hotel, with a focus on functional rooms - not luxury. The rooms are simple, but clean and spacious, with very comfortable beds. We ate both breakfast and dinner in the hotel restaurant. We were all happy with our meals. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and exciting. All the staff we  met were polite, cheerful and helpful. We recommend Thon Hotel Bjørneparken. 

Great family hotel

I have spent there unfortunately just one night but I was overwhelmed. It is outside of centre but you have supermarket, gas station, Mcdonalds close by . It is simple , cosy inside. The only thing that bothered me, our room was at ground floor so we could not open the curtains because everyone could see us. Beds great, bathroom too. Breakfast was perfect, whatever you could imagine  . Actually I am surprised now when I read bad reviews. I would definitely come back. 

Adorable

It was a very high standar hotel. Nice people working there. The rooms was very clean, and in a very quite area close to the Bear park. The restaurant was nice and the food excellent. Nice family place.

Bjørneparken

Had a very comfortable stay at Thon. The room was spacious and clean. Hotel was conveniently located in the mall where it was easy to get some grocery. The breakfast was good too. Booked the package which came with the Bear park tickets which was value for money.

Love the stay

We came here early on arrival to have some hours in the Bjørneparken. As a family we had ordered the Bearpackage with tickets and a studio for 4 people. 

So we had a lot of time to spend at the park before checking-in. The receptionist was hospitable and explaining how things work. We got even a memo on the feeding time of the animals. 

The shock was when checking in that the studio was in another building and closer to the park. So we had to drive up the hills for our stay. However, the room was splendid and had all the facilities they promised. 

The breakfast in the morning meant we had to drive the hill down again. The Scandinavian continental breakfast it was, but a lot of pastries and desserts too. It was a marvellous treat from home. One of the best hotel breakfasts I've had actually. They really put in their work here.

Pro-tip: Order the bear package. You get lots for your money. Also easily entry to the park itself. 

Bearly welcoming stay

Average rooms, but just perfect for families traveling with kids in the area, as this is the only hotel near by. Be sure you book a room at the HOTEL and not the studio apartments 1 km away from the hotel (unless this is what you want). The price is average compared to what you get, but considering this is a remote place and not a city, it is a bit expensive, though. 

I highly recommend the breakfast buffet, which is one of the best ones I have experienced in a 3-star hotel. This breakfast surely could be served in a 4 -or 5-star hotel. 

The food in the restaurant (evenings) is good, above average, and certainly much better than the other restaurants in Flå. Friendly staff both in the reception and restaurant. 

As this is a place with many families/kids, be aware that it could be a bit noisy, especially during the breakfast. 

This is the best/nearest place for accomodation when visiting Bjørneparken, and the hotel and Bjørneparken offer -15% if you order both accomodation and a visit to Bjørneparken through their website (Thon Hotels). 

Most families spend 1-2 days in the area, and it is possible to buy a Day 2 ticket to Bjørneparken for -50% of what they normally charge.
