You are out of the hustle and bustle of the city centre but close enough to walk to everything or get a tram or bus. There areplenty of bars, bakeries and restaurants on your doorstep. The apartment itself is super clean spacious, luxurious and the beds are super comfy!

Beautiful apartments in a beautiful area

Loved this place. Great athmosphere, good service and excellent food. Small room (only 10 sqm) but lovely bed and so piecefull and quiet. Reccomend this for your weekend trip. Remember to take Advantage of the offered evening meal. That was a lovely surprise. 

Weekend stay

The 5 stars is for this property.  I would take off a couple stars for the mix-up that we had with our original booking which I will address in this review. We have stayed at another Frogner House property on another trip and loved that apartment and location. We originally booked a different property, but only found out when we checked in that the property was under construction, so no parking was available even though we had reserved onsite parking.  Also, the top floor unit of that original property is horrible.  Oh it's cute and all that, but it was a hundred degrees in there and you cannot even open a window.  I don't need air conditioning, but I do need to open a window.  I highly recommend that the property owners/managers rectify this. We complained, which I'm not a complainer. I can adapt to most anything, but these 2 factors were non-negotiable. Luckily they were able to move us to this property at Gables Gate.
We loved this apartment and location.  Our apartment was lovely, large and just a really great place to spend a few days.  I would definitely book this again. They were laundry in the apartment, which we used, and all the windows opened!!!  I have nothing negative to say about this property.  You do have to check in at another location, but we have no issues with that.  It is what it is.  Would definitely stay here again.  In fact, I look forward to staying here again.

Love the Frogner House properties

Frogner house has in interesting check-in procedure. You never actually see a person. After flying into Oslo, we took a train to the National Theatre Station and walked about a kilometer to the Frogner House Office. At the office, you put your reservation number into a machine and it spits out a couple of key cards. We decided to take a taxi to the apartment, as it was 1.8 kilometers from the office.

We go to the apartment, which is in the lovely neighborhood of Skillebekk, an upscale part of town. It is pretty easy walking distance to the tram and grocery store. We walked up an awkward staircase to the second floor and our apartment. The washer and dryer was in the shower. You had to get into the shower and then move a glass door to do laundry. Certainly an interesting use of space. The kitchen was tiny but usable. The beds we not comfortable and had the flimsiest pillows I've ever seen.  And if you are staying for more than one or two nights, you will want to bring your own soap and shampoo.

Clearly, the best thing about the apartment is the location. But's that's only if you want to be in a quiet neighborhood, not the center of town.

Great Neighborhood - Strange Apartment

check in was a total night mare in this place.
they switched our reservation because they were overbooked(is this United airlines?)
we walked 1 mile from the check in kiosk to find out our keys didn't work.
back 1 mile to find arrogant 20 year olds re keyed the cards because the system never updated the switch they made.
two hours later we dropped our bags off in the room........................
