I like that this place is beside the Waterworld complex and it's far from the city. It's a great place to bring the family and enjoy the water attractions. I like the food they offered as well. However, one of the rooms we booked has a bathroom that smells a bit and looks a bit worn and unkempt. Most of the employees were really friendly, but there are others who were not very helpful.

A Visit for the Eon

We booked at this hotel because we wanted to spend the day at iloilo waterworld. We were quite shocked as the rate was only 899php a night. They are quite strict as to letting guests check in at 2pm sharp. We were given a room that has a double bed and a single bed. Quite a good deal. However, dont be fooled, hot shower wasnt working and water pressure from the shower was weak. It is evident that it lacks maintenance as the end table has been only glued back to place. Sheet blankets were thin but what can you expect, still worth the price! 3 persons for only 899php. Plated breakfast is 195php per person though, and the taste was ok. Take advantage of the room service. Good thing is that if you plan to go to waterworld, you get 50php off the ticket price. Overall, this hotel really need a good revamp in order for it give its customers the appeal they seek for. 899php per night is a good deal but anything higher than that would not be worth the stay. 3.75 stars

You get what you pay for

Old room. no hot water in the shower. The shower was bad (prolly just in the room where we stayed) the shower head could only let out few streaks of water! There are minor leaks at the bottom of the toilet. Found a small cockroach in there as well. No room service after 12am. Comfortable bed though.

My stay there was as the sponsor of a full day Water World event for 60 people with several meal packages followed by overnight accomidations for the group in the hotel.

Overall, my review of the hotel is that it is a substandard 1 star hotel.  We were first placed in an "Executive Room" in a very old building behind the enterence to Water World (Room 229). This "Executive Room" had a matress on the ground as a rollaway bed, an air condition which looked like it was installed during the Presidency of Fernando Marcos and a bathroom which was smaller than most closets.  The room was incredibly hot, musty and not great. We were then moved to a room around the corner, a room with a pink crown. I think they called that the "Princess Room".  That was another poor room, even smaller with aging children's furniture.

Ultimately, we were transferred to a back building which is a lot newer. It has modern A/C and beds. But there are many other shortcomings with this room and most of the other rooms in this "new building" (I was able to do a complete survey speaking with many members of my family in the new building).  The problems are:

- The TV service is horrible.  They have Sky TV but that subscribe to next to no channels. No CNN, Fox Sports 1/2/3 and many other seemingly "standard channels".
- No Internet.  In the back building no Internet was available.
- No hot water. There are beautiful hot water machines in the showers, but most do not work. Mine did not even have power.
- Virtually no outlets. Other than the TV outlets, there is only 1 plug and 1 USB outlet. Totally substandard in today's day and age.   
- We had a brownout (no generator backup of course, they did have a generator for Water World which was incredibly loud but it did not power our building)
- The general state of the grounds is horrific - looks like a construction warzone in the back.
- Our beds were average, mattresses ok but only one sheet on the bed, no blanket, bed cover.  

Worst of all, however, was the management's response to any complaints.  They do nothing to correct any problem, their strategy is to send over a young pretty girl to try and charm you with a smile and constantly saying "I'm sorry" or "I understand" into accepting the situation. This girl also tried to get us to list down the issues in the hotel for some reason even after I reviewed them politely with a manager.  It's too bad this hotel does not get the fact that in today's modern world you should actually empower women to have management authority not just use them to try and charm people.

All in all, this is a truly terrible hotel. No Internet, poor TV, no hot water, limited outlets, the grounds in the back are beyond description.   Don't let anyone charm you into thinking it was even a 2 star hotel.  It is not, it lacks every essential service any credential city hotel should be inclined to offer to guests.  But the biggest problem with the hotel manager is one of business integrity. Representing aging, poorly maintained rooms as "Executive Rooms" is deceptive.  I would avoid the Centennial Hotel at all costs.  It is as substandard as it gets for a major city hotel.
