Booked this hotel via an online agent named as OKATEX HOTEL! Address showed up well on satnav and took as right to the building. Unfortunately it was all locked up, tried a few door bells to no avail, I know I was at the right place a big (faded) sign said Okatex.
I walked round the back and found a very helpful man speaking perfect English, who said he had never heard of the Okatex! He then took me across a garden to 2 ladies who were coming out of the back of another building , I asked where was the hotel, check in is round the front of this building. Ok I drove round and found I was in the Willa Park Hotel grounds. Totally confused I went to reception and asked was this check in for Okatex, yes was the reply. I am still confused as we were put in a 3rd building and ate at the Willa Park.
Hotel was very dated, nothing had appeared to have changed since it had been a hospital tn the 1940s.  (WW 11). However the staff were wonderful and the room we had was functional and adequate for our 2 day stay.
It was very cheap which was a bonus,£32 a night. It would appear this is the only "real" hotel in Zagan, if visiting Staluft 3 then stay here, the museum and site are only a couple of klms down the road.

The Wrong Hotel

If you're booked into "Hotel Okatex", go to Hotel Willa Park, NOT Hotel Okatex. We were very confused as we went to the 'Okatex' hotel, knocked on the door, rung on the bells and waited for 15 minutes, we phoned, before giving up and deciding to book a room in the Hotel Willa Park instead (they're literally right next to each other). We then found out that they're the same hotel, and they took our booking and checked us in! We were very confused as to why they bother advertising themselves as a separate hotel, makes no sense and causes confusion!

Our room was lovely and warm, with a nice bathroom and working TV, so was impressed with the room. We stayed in the Okatex building, so it was a slight walk away from the main hotel, but this was fine and contributed to a quieter room. We did eat at Willa Park and it was very cheap, the equivalent of £14 for an evening meal and drinks! My family had chicken and they said it was nice and cooked well, however, I ordered the Lentil Soup and was very confused when it came and it was green, herby and not Lentil Soup? Ate it out of courtesy but didn't particularly enjoy it or get full, so ate bread instead... Booked breakfast and this was nice too, had a decent amount of choice and was a fair price :) 

Service was good, the staff struggled slightly with English but we did manage eventually :) Good location but then don't think there's much in Zagan....

It's good value for money but no luxury, would recommend if heading to Zagan though, was warm and I had a good sleep.

Very confusing to find, but good when you're there!

To be 100% truthful, I didn't actually stay at Hotel Okatex so I can't really tell you much about the hotel itself but I can tell you about the reservation and check-in process. We found this place on TripAdvisor and booked it in advance through Booking.com, got our confirmation and so forth. But when we arrived, we were confused because first of all, the address on our confirmation doesn't actually exist and secondly, when we did locate something named 'Okatex,' it was all locked up, dark and did not look like a hotel. We asked a couple of local residents but that did not help as they did not speak English or German, the two languages we had to offer, and we don't speak Polish.

We decided to go to the Hotel Willa Park, which was near the address we were given for Hotel Okatex, to see if they could help us find our hotel or give us information. Well, lo and behold, they handle the check-in process for both hotels - it would have been nice if that had been mentioned somewhere before we spent 30 minutes trying to find the Hotel Okatex! Then we got the 'bait and switch' routine - they said they would be happy to check us into the Hotel Okatex but wanted us to know we would be the only people in the building and it wouldn't have heating. However, they had an available room at the Hotel Willa Park for only a small additional fee. We decided to take it as we were quite tired after a long day - she then convinced us to add their breakfast to the tab as well.

The total was still extremely reasonable and we were quite satisfied with our accommodations, the meal and everything else about Hotel Willa Park. The only thing that was NOT acceptable was the 'bait and switch' tactics, which we later discovered are their standard way of doing things - that is, they bring a good number of guests into their facility through the Hotel Okatex advertising, then switch them over on one pretext or another to Hotel Willa Park 'for just a small additional fee.' Consider yourself warned.

Beware of Bait and Switch!!

The Hotel Okatex is just the overflow for the Hotel Willa Park. 

As other reviewers have already commented it isn't signposted - probably for good reason.

What's right with the place. Good wifi and clean room.

What's wrong with the place. Broken shower, broken plug sockets and a wardrobe that blocks the door. 

Quite a dated room that appears to have been put together with odds and ends from the neighbouring hotel.

Finally fixing the front door might help customer satisfaction - no one wants a long squeak followed by a thundering bang all through the night.
