The hotel is in a great location, with Elevador de Santa only a few minutes away. It's also very close to two metro stops.

The staff were friendly, despite some lack of English, and the hotel itself was rather quaint and cute. It was hardly luxurious but it was fine for a few days.

The street outside, however, is very noisy with all the bars. I'm a heavy sleeper but, especially on the Friday night, I couldn't get to sleep for hours. For this reason alone, I wouldn't stay here again. Which is a shame, because the staff were great!

Lovely hotel but shame about the noise

Look, for that price at that location what do you expect?  The place is very old and seedy, but was clean and above all, comfortable. I don't like these concrete and glass monstrosities with their shiny tables and their shiny staff.  Here you can go and get a good meal and wine for a reasonable price and the whole Barrio is pleasant and relaxed.  To complain about staff not speaking English, to me, is really weird.  Where do you think you are??  Its noisy at night, but good humoured noise.  Earplugs recommended if necessary.   I slept like a log.  Highly recommended to ordinary humans!

To be honest, one can't expect much from a room for 15 euro per night, but still. The hostel is situated in the middle of the party district so it was really noisy, I almost didn't get any sleep. The old lady who only spoke Portuguese immediately took my passport and yelled at me when I wanted to know when I could get it back. I think if you come to Lisbon to go partying with friends it can be a cheap way to spend the night but as for me, I did not at all feel comfortable.

Not a nice stay

Of course we choose this location for the position and for the price, but we expected a different situation. We went there at the beginning of December and the weather was really cold: the hostel hadn't the heating, at all. We were freezing not only during the night, but also in the morning. Another problem was the dust in the room: I'm allergic and the towels and the blankets were full of that and this was tragic for me. I'm not complaining about the music because it's not their fault and we expected that. But it wasn't a pleasure to sleep there.at all.

Best position but that's all.
