This place has a couple of apartments which was the ideal solution for 2 couples. The only thing we did not like is that they requested our credit card details to accept our booking. So we just showed up without booking.
No breakfast available here or anywhere else in Obidos before 9am and we had not anticipated that we could prepare our own.
Anyway, nice cosy place pousada style at a good price, with a beautiful view at sunrise.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment (the Quarto do Jardim) at the Casal da Eira Branca in Obidos for 1-night in late-Sep (117 €). The Casal was one of a few hotels located inside the city walls, not far from the gate and just off the main walking road. It had a bit of an odd configuration, behind a wall and seemingly spread through what might have formerly been individual apartments on both sides of the narrow street connected by an overhead walkway. Our apartment was huge, fairly narrow but about 30 m from one end to the other. It consisted of a long, narrow kitchen (fully equipped, including a full refrigerator/freezer), 2 spacious bedrooms with comfortable large beds, each with a couple of shuttered windows looking out on the medieval scene. The bedrooms were separated by a very large, comfortable sitting room with a table that seated 8, a couch, fireplace and flat-screen TV. There were also 2 bathrooms, one associated with each bedroom. In front was a small, pleasant garden with a couple of seating areas. Breakfast was extra, but a good deal at 6 €. The hotel also offered to shuttle our luggage from the city gate to the hotel on a bicycle for a 5 €, a great deal for the 150 m across the rough cobbled streets. Parking was outside the city gates; either pay by the tourist centre, pay the firemen across in the dirt lot, or park by the RV camp for free.

So, a beautiful, spacious, atmospheric apartment inside the walls of a walled medieval town, and a chance to enjoy that town in the evening and morning when the hordes of tourists from Lisbon are not present. Added to that, pleasant managers and a very reasonable price. Awesome!

Large spacious bedroom and sitting room within the walls of the village up over the main street. Lovely breeze; pretty view. Very quiet at night. Attentive, polite staff. Walk to restaurants and shops.

Lovely quiet B&B within the walls of Obidos

The best nights sleep I've had in ages. Charming old house full of character, warm welcome, a good buffet breakfast outside under the vine-covered pergola, central location in the walled town, just off the main street, and good value to boot.
