Actually we didn't expect to find ourselves in such a great place! Our rooms were big, clean and fully equipped with everything necessary. The views out of the windows are just amazing! The place is really close to the city centre and it will take you 1 or 2 minutes to get there by car. And the famous Castelo de Tomar/ Castelo dos Templários is also not far from there.   
The staff was very friendly and helped us every time we asked for something!

Perfect rural rest

We checked in here not really knowing what to expect and were pleasantly surprised - the large room was clean and decorated to a high standard. We were really excited about the small kitchenette as we had been staying in hotels and eating out every day. We bought some fish and cooked ourselves a meal. 
The owner was a nice man who spoke English well and was very helpful with directions etc.If visiting the historic town of Tomar, this hotel is a little way out but we were driving so it was ok.

Lovely place, good view over surrounding countryside

I liked staying in the Santa Marta residence! The staff was very friendly and helpful. They have very nice rooms and delicious breakfast. I stayed in a room with a kitchenette, which had everything to prepare a nice dinner. Although the residence is not very close to the city centre, it's very easy to reach it by bus.

Santa Marta residence Tomar

We stayed at this comfortable hotel near Tomar while we visited the Knights Templar castle and monastery. Our room was sparkling clean and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. It had a kitchenette that was convenient for snacks and beverages although we did not cook. Breakfast was included and was plentiful enough to get us off to a good start for our daily drives to nearby towns to see more sights. Faustino, the charming host, gave us good recommendations for restaurants in Tomar for dinner, about a 10-minute drive. We were very satisfied with this hotel which was quiet and has lovely verandas for resting, reading and enjoying the clean air and views.

Welcoming and comfortable

The good:
- The place was nice and clean
- Friendly and helpful staff

The bad:
- Breakfast is included in the room price but it was one of the most meagre breakfasts we've ever had. There are only white buns and croissants (from canned dough, which we all happened to dislike).
- We were very surprised to read other people's reviews saying that the kitchenette is well-equipped. In the cupboards we found one glass, four old mugs, three plates (all different sizes), a tiny old frying pan and a tiny pot. No bowls, no cutting board or knife, no kitchen towels, and only a tiny waste bin. I guess it depends on what you want to cook and with how many people you travel, but we really had to improvise to cook a proper meal for three.
- The a/c does a very poor job at cooling the room down

The place also has a weird feel to it. There is a huge terrace out back that is completely empty and unused. The place was eerily quiet and seemed to only be inhabited by some construction guys working a job nearby.
