Smell of room: 0/10 (the sewage smell was horrible)

We got the ensuite room instead of the dorm, for an 8 night stay.

Owner texted the day before to confirm arrival time. Check in counter is just a small tiny window, recep did not speak much english but she was trying her best. Got our room, went up and it was fine until we realised..

1) The bedsheets were covers that kept running so we could see the bed. & the bed had plenty of menstrual blood stains. One huge one near where the pillow is.

2) After our first shower, the toilet flooded and took very long to drain, then the sewage smell started.

First night:
Texted the owner to let them know, they say they will fix it the next day. They fixed the drainage problem and the sewage smell was masked by air fresheners which wore off within the hour.

Second night:
Texted owner again the 2nd night and included the bed stains problem which owner said was both fixable. So we decided to let them fix it. Came back the next night and both problems still there. Sewage smell is baaaaaaad and they didnt even try covering up the period stain.

Both times, we said we were okay if we switched rooms instead, but there was no offer of that. i assume it was booked up.

Third night:
Texted owner again and told them i wanted a refund. We couldn't take it any longer. This time they got the manager to come down and refused a refund. They finally offered a room change but the room also smells like sewage so we moved out the next day anyway.

Have been to Korea over 3 times and always stayed in guesthouses, never had such an unpleasant stay in a guesthouse, EVER.

Honestly, the shared bathrooms smells perfectly fine, it's the ensuites that smells horrid. But not sure what the standard of the cleanliness of the dorm rooms are like.

12/10 would never stay or recommend to anyone.
