STAY FAR AWAY! THE WORST! I never write reviews, but made an account just for this. The owner, David, is unfriendly, rude, and terrible. The room is tiny, dirty, and freezing. It was the dead of winter, and no heat! We entered the room and immediately walked back out. He didn't even give us a refund. We still left though because it was THAT BAD. In my 10 years of traveling, the WORST. STAY AWAY! SAVE YOUR MONEY!

Visited this hostel when it was under Kwon's administration. 
1) He asked for my natonality and then said that advertised price rooms were unavailable, you must pay extra
2) After you pay they ask you to pay hidden fees for their room service
3) Central air-condition never worked except for times when they showed their rooms to new customers. The temperature was 40+ degrees inside rooms
4) Water was switched off most of the day due to some repairs

I booked this room because I was looking for a very cheap accomodation option in Gangnam, and Morning Guesthouse Gangnam delivers exactly that : it's cheap, and fairly well located in Gangnam (although you do need 10 minutes or so to reach either Gangnam or Yeoksam Station). But with low price came all the drawbacks : it was a bit hard to reach (you have to find the building, written in Hangeul, go up 3 or 4 floors, ring up a phone if the guy is not there... Once you get Inside, it truly feels like a Goshiwon, not a guesthouse, with people seemingly staying there for quite a while. There is no guesthouse atmosphere, with each room being separated and no living / community room at all. The rooms themselves were very small, even for a goshiwon, although they did have the amenities you could expect (TV, mini fridge, bathroom and shower). It was decently cleaned. The staff was almost nowhere to be found as well during the entirety of my stay (about a week). So conclusion : if you absolutely want a cheap place, it's a good choice, but if you want to experience a true guesthouse in a more friendly atmosphere, I'd recommand going somewhere else.

Good value for your money, but little else to offer

The Morning Guesthouse is on the 3/F of a commercial building and not easy to find for non-Korean speakers. The police man who I asked for directions said it's not a suitable guest house for foreigners. There was nobody at the reception and you need to call a number for someone to let you in.The two floors are divided into tiny rooms or rather cells (some have no window!), and reminded me of capsule hotels in Japan. There are mostly students and young professionals renting the cells on a monthly basis. There is a shared kitchen which I didn't use and free wifi in the rooms. The closest subway station is Gangnam. Would not stay there again.
