The hostel is near bars and shops area. Also not far walking from couple of Palaces. The staff is friendly and speaks English. Easy to get there from the metro station. It is cheap so don’t expect large or new renovates rooms.

It’s ok

It was the cheapest available hostel in Seoul and that is the main reason I went there. I was not disappoint at all. I booked in 6 bed and got a four bed room. The stuff spoke English very well and they were really helpful. It was clean and I expected worse based on other reviews. One minor downside was that the stuff didn't seem to be locals, so they didn't know about the late night bus lines.

Low price

The good things were that the beds were clean and you could use the kitchen and the ricecooker. Also the Guesthouse is at a nice location. 

However, i hate to sound mean but the the Women that owns this place has a very rude and unfriendly way to talk to her guests. She is also not really helpful in terms of providing information or making you feel comfortable. The room had lots, huge amounts of Mosquitos. Also what can be improved is the WIFI which worked half of the time. There is a japanese man Mamoru, who is really friendly and a german girl Sarah , who helped as much as they can. Thanks a lot for their help!!!

I do not expect a red carpet, but remember the guest pays to be here, and beeing friendly doesn't cost a thing. 

I wanted to stay longer in Seoul, decided to change the Hostel because of her arrogant and inappropiate character. She is hardly at the reception so you have to wait until you interact with her, plus with her bossy way of "educating" you like telling three guests not to talk outside, I quickly got the impression of not feeling welcome. Its a pitty I would have stayed longer, if she was just normal friendly.

Unfriendly owner

This is possibly the cheapest hostel/guesthouse you could ever find in Seoul. Besides the price, the thing that I like most about this guesthouse is the homely feel to it. It really feels like you're living in a Korean home. The staff members are friendly and accommodating and so are most of the guests that stayed here. Since Sungkyunkwan University is nearby, this guesthouse is located in a university town which draws its energy from the young people in the area. There are lots to see and do here and most of it are on the cheaper side compared to the Sinchon/Hongdae/Edae area. 

The downside I would say is the shared bathroom and the limited laundry drying space. There is only one bathroom in one big room subdivided into few smaller dorm rooms so competing for it is expected. The place to dry laundry is directly outside the big room and it is a piece of rope with hangers for you to dry your clothes. Also there is no breakfast provided although you are free to use the kitchen for cooking.

Nevertheless, this is a good place to stay for the budget traveler and I would highly recommend this for backpackers who are looking for cheap and good accommodation.

You get what you pay for

I ' ve spent six days at the hostel, in a six beds dorm. The location is really great, in a lively neighborhood full of restaurants and supermarkets, close to the subway and to a few attractions. Unfortunately the hostel was extremely dirty even for my very flexible standards, and especially the bathroom was abysmal.  There was a man of the management sleeping hidden behind some kind of curtain next to the restroom which , with my disappointment,  I only discovered after getting undressed several times in front of it. The bin in the restroom was never emptied in five days, until one of the customers got tired of the pile of trash and emptied it himself.
