We stayed at the Namu Guesthouse for a few days at the end of our trip and it was definitely our favourite of the 2 hostels/guesthouses in Seoul.  There are some no smoking/no drinking signs in the guesthouse, but when you're so close to Hong Dae, I'm not sure who this would concern.

Loved it - central & quiet

My friends and I stayed at Namu Guesthouse for 10 days and really enjoyed our time there.
The family is amazingly welcoming and approachable so that we easily felt comfortable even while staying in a foreign country. They helped us whenever we had questions concerning our travel or gave us tips on where to go. :)
Also the guesthouse has everything's that needed (Wi-Fi, 2 bathrooms, a stocked fridge, a room to sit together and talk) and is in walking distance to Hongdae (~8min) or Hongik University subway station from which you can get to pretty much any destination in Seoul. ^^

We will definitely come again~

With just 10-15 minutes away from Hongdae Station, this simple yet friendly guesthouse would surely make your stay a memorable one. The rooms are well-maintained and the staff are friendly. There's free breakfast every morning but you could also cook if you want. Their common area is where you meet new friends (i.e. other guests and staff) and share stories about your itineraries, background etc. It was a fun experience all together. The guesthouse is situated in a quiet neighborhood so don't expect any noisy partying at nighttime to disturb your sleep. There are some grocery stores nearby, several restaurants, a bakery and a dozen cafe for you to explore.

Feels like Home

 This is a place i would highly recommend to who that wish to have a comfort, clean, warm place to stay. It's so convenience to reach by Hongdae station exit 3 or 2. Around Namu house you can easy find yourself fooooooddddsssss~ at Spring morning come out from the Namu you can enjoy lots of big and red roses all the way. The most last important one is the Host Yeowon is so friendly and helpful who prepare breakfast for us everyday morning and also offer us a chance to wear Hanbok. Thanks Yeowon for the wonderful trip~ 

Home sweet home~

Namu guesthouse was warm and cozy. We felt well taken care of and we learnt a lot about Korean culture by conversing with the staffs. Namu was clean and quiet.  Being in a residential area, it was great for a good night rest. It's also within walking distance (15mins) from hongdae station, which makes it convenient to travel around Seoul or to the airport. The AREX takes you directly to and from the airports to hongdae. 

The staffs are very kind and helpful. We felt really warm with our stay at Namu and would visit again. 

The guesthouse was clean, but I thought the laundry area or the balcony needed more clean up. So we could also open the windows for air ventilation.
