Firstly would like to Thank Ms Kim, as my flights booking is having issue, so instate of original planning of staying 20th Jan to 23th jan, we need to change to 23th jan to 26th jan, As booking was done by Hotels.com, 2 emails send to Sejong Hotel by Hotels.com  was been rejected, so I wrote in the Email personally and called to MS Kim from Reservation dept in Sejong Hotel, she manage to change the room date with no added price, after she understand my issue on my flights delay booking.

Now for review, The place is near Subway exit 10, however that Exit don't link to any shopping mall or underground shopping center, but if you need to travel out to other station is great, very convenient, walking distant to Daiso, and Lotte shopping mall as well, but be sure you shop before 10PM, as there isn't any nightlight or night shopping around that area.

Staff is extremely friendly and assist us on express check in, as we travel from Busan to Seoul, therefor we reach about 10AM, however they allow us to check in early, the room is small (Think because is located at Seoul central) house keeping need to improve, as we have 2x Twin beds so time to time we move the beds a little as need to pack luggage, the amount of dusts was terrible, the bath towers that was provided also have a very strong breaching smell.

3 days of stay from 23th jan to 26th jan, right outside of the Hotel main door, protest was happening, claim that mistreat of worker by the hotel, worst thing is a loud speaker was use during the protest from 7AM onwards, i stay in 10th floors and is still loud and clear, and no action was being taken from the hotel.

Big front desk area, small room but great service

Just came back from Seoul two weeks ago and had stayed in Sejong Hotel for 8 nights. You can take bus 6015 from Incheon airport and alight about 100M away from Sejong hotel. Before i went Seoul, i had read up the reviews of Sejong Hotel and almost all reviews said the room was stuffy and warm despite was winter, and some said the rooms were old and musky. To my pleasant surprise, the room was spacious enough for my two young children and also my two huge luggages. The only issue was i asked to combine my beds which was not fulfilled but my hubby combined it on his own, so it was not a big deal. It was -minus 12 degrees celsius outside and all we did was to open the windows slightly and the room was well ventilated. Wifi works well for us too, the rooms were sound proofed as well. Our room had an excellent view of the Namsan Tower at night. There are for sure signs of wear and tear, nevertheless the room was clean, the beds were comfy and the toilet was clean. Staff speaks good English, very courteous and efficient. Sejong Hotel is located in the Myeongdong District and is located just outside the subway 4, at exit 10. But be prepared to walk many steps of stairs, it is a bit difficult to carry heavy luggage with you.The hotel is located right next to Myeondong street so you can walk around the street. Plenty of restaurants, numerous convenience stores and bakeries around the hotel. Overall, i would say not a bad hotel and quite a pleasant place to stay.

1st visit to Seoul, 8 nights stay in Sejong Hotel

It was our first trip to Seoul and first time staying at Sejong hotel. We chose the hotel for its great location next to Exit 10 of Myeongdong station, shopping streets and eateries. We were also mentally prepared for the worse after reading some negative comments about no ventilation during winter, dated furniture, etc on TA. 

Our check-in was fuss-free. Most of our rooms are Family Deluxe Twin located on level 11. We were only able to open the windows slightly, due to the design of the window, for the cold air to flow through. Generally the ventilation in the room was fine with us and the furniture didn’t look as dated as described by other travelers. The hotel was renovated 3-4 years ago. 

The other room was Triple Room on level 12. When we first stepped in, we were upset by the lingering smoking smell in the room though it’s a non smoking floor. As we are allergic to the smoking smell, we feedback to the housekeeping and they brought up an air purifier for us to try out, otherwise we could change the room (though only 2 other triple room left). Thankfully the smell was reduced after using the air purifier. We were happy with the room as it was big and spacious (corner unit) with 2 windows for good ventilation to allow cold air to flow in. 

The reservation staff - Cathy Kim was helpful and fast in her response when we made enquiries before and after our hotel bookings. 

The front desk staff - Carole Min was very friendly, helpful and flexible when we requested late check-out and airport transfer, as we got a midnight flight. When we checked out, we requested to leave our luggage at the concierge and to tag our luggage while waiting for our airport transfer. Other hotel staff told us no need tag our luggage, but Carole Min helped us to tag and tie the luggage together to ensure not mixing up with other travelers’ luggage and for a peace of mind. 

Sejong Hotel is conveniently located next to Exit 10 of Myeongdong, but do note that there is no lift or escalator, except for a flight of steps (roughly 30-40 steps). It may be challenging for old folks when going up and travelers when lugging heavy luggage up the stairs. It was worse when the average temperature was -12°C. 

Eating around the hotel was easy with Paris Baguette, 7-11, Congee house, other congee eateries, Korean BBQ - Wangbijib and many other choices being located nearby a stone’s throw away. 

After all, it was an awesome experience and we would not hesitate to stay at the same hotel again. 



Winter Holiday in Seoul, Sejong Hotel

Used to travel several times a year to Seoul for company meetings and always stayed in the Sejong. Not a bad hotel, a bit dated and needing perhaps a bit of an upgrade. Hotels close by have upped their game so there are better ones around.
But in fairness Sejong was constant and reliable, food was good, however I liked the street food better at the back of the hotel. This does not mean hotel food is bad, it means the street food is fabulous !!!! Everything worked, service was good, would try somewhere else if going back but only because I stayed in Sejong six or more times, love variation !!

Regular stay whilst in Seoul

Recently stayed at this hotel , we had Korean Hosts which made our stay more of a Korean experience,
the hotel is located in a very vibrant area, yes it had down falls , breakfast was great, hotel layout had a lot to be desired, but over all I wouldn’t mark this hotel of
f your list , close to lots to do

Canadian traveler

This Hostel location is superb .. only like 5 minutes walk to the heart of myeongdong shopping district and about 10 mins walk to airport bus stop, 2 mins walk to nearby mini-mart

The hostel do need some renovations and there is no lift. if you are looking for cheap and strategic place to stay then this is a good place to stay. 

Hostel in the heart of myeongdong

The room was pretty small. 
No closet space. 
In the middle of the city so not bad. 
Bed was rock solid, not a good nights sleep. 
Woke up to bug bites all over. 
The shower took 5 Minutes to warm up and the water pressure was awful.
