Since our second stay in 2016 Daniel has become semi-retired and, alas, does not provide dinners.  (You can walk along the road a bit to find a great local restaurant.) But, as compensation, the breakfasts are out of this world - the best I have ever eaten!! And the warm welcome from Daniel and Lucia was great - they are like old friends to us now. We had the large room with balcony and fabulous views over the valley to the reservoir. The bed linen is of the highest quality as is the whole ambience of this wonderful hotel.  They are a lovely couple who have created a wonderful hotel and we must find a way to return!!

This place was heaven. A spectacular old stone building with a great setting a few k from Ainsa. Their breakfasts were indescribably good, interesting, fresh and varied - we just decided to eat everything and forego lunch! Lovely change from the usual buffet breakfast (unless you are fussy - we were happy to eat what we got here!). Tragically the evening meal was only available one of our 3 evenings, or we would have eaten there each night. Very high quality and interesting food. Lovely people running the place. Spacious room. 

Delicious food, fabulous setting

We stayed with Daniel and Lucia as part of a walking holiday in Aragon and after three testing days of hiking and tiny village hotels we felt like we had entered an oasis of calm and tranquility.  This was coupled with a level of detail and desire to deliver the most wonderful food possible, Daniel said he cooked for him and what he loved and you could see that in every aspect from the crazy cutlery to the beautiful table settings.

If you love breakfast and appreciate the finer things in life then we recommend staying here, even the cake box was covered in leaves!

We were really lucky to dine with them as part of the package and both nights dinner was full of creativity and love, Daniel even made us a lovely packed lunch for our walk the day after.

We cannot thank you enough for making our stay with you so special.

HIghlight of Our Holiday

I’ve stayed in many 5 star hotels and Posada Al Vent was one of the most unique and beautiful experiences I’ve ever had.  If you appreciate antiques, beauty and art, this renovated medieval hotel is the place for you.  The place is pristine, with attention to every detail. . . . The art everywhere, the antique furniture, the lightly scented candles and the high end upgrades from the renovation makes this an enchanting, magical room.  We stayed in a junior terrace room that had a small terrace with a stunning view and was a wonderful place to relax while listening to the birds and enjoying the breeze.  ABSOLUTELY have dinner if you can at the hotel - Daniel is an amazing chef and it’s so reasonably priced.  His cooking rivals the best restaurants I’ve been to in my hometown of San Francisco.  The quality of the ingredients and the flavors were out of this world and the presentation of the food was artistic down to the beautiful cutlery and plate sets I was envying.  Also get nearby restaurant recommendations from Daniel, you cannot go wrong.  This is a wonderful place if you want to visit small quaint towns and do some hiking at Monte Perdido.  We stayed at a Paradores in Biesla which had the convenience of being close to some hiking trails but had I known better, I would’ve stayed longer at Posada Al Vent.  It really is that magical!

One of the most unique and beautiful hotel experiences I’ve ever had

Our 3 night stay in October was a birthday surprise for my wife. Obviously the quality of the 5 star reviews were a very positive factor as my wife can be critical of small details.
I must say that in recent years I have also been increasingly disappointed with our stays, standards have fallen....but not at the Posada.
Lucia and Daniel are very welcoming hosts and have created a property with loving attention to so much detail. The resulting ambience especially the very comfortable armchairs made a warm and enjoyable time. Plenty of the old fashioned radiators.
Our bedroom again was immaculate and well furnished with more comfortable armchairs, so much artistic talent in each setting.
And then of course Daniel's cooking. A fixed 3 course dinner, not only a joy to eat but beautifully presented, and with such a wide range of crockery and china to complement each meal.
No miserable buffet selection for breakfast, after juice and fresh fruits another innovative cooked dish.

Impeccable

Well this was one of the best surprise of my traveller life.
In a medieval pueblo of 10 houses close to Pyrenees mountain to find this gem.
A refurbished old mansion combining old and modernism with careful attention to details.
Bathroom has very good quality cosmetics, breakfast is crazy (like a dinner), room was ample and as I said combining modernism and the medieval style of the village. 
Everything was perfect. We decided to stay one night more. Pity that our days of holiday were over. 


Insane breakfast 

If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind experience, here it is.  The unique property has been exquisitely restored and is located in one of the most beautiful, tranquil areas in Spain. Daniel and Lucia are lovely, gracious hosts and the beauty of this tiny, remote village is only out-shined by Daniel's outstanding culinary skills.  This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip and we can't wait to return!

During our trip to Spain, my husband and I wanted to find a place to stay midway between San Sebastián and Barcelona and we couldn’t have picked a better place. Posada Al Vent, in a small Medieval village near Ainsa in the Pyrenees, was the most beautiful inn with breathtaking views of the mountains. A most peaceful and romantic spot with amazing hosts, Daniel and Lucia. This super duo work together to provide a beautiful atmosphere with tasteful decor and gourmet food. 
The  meals (breakfasts and dinners), were  delicious with creative presentation, unique cutlery and serving dishes accompanied by amazing local wine. The room was the nicest we’ve ever seen with a comfortable, four poster bed with lots of pillows, a couch, a large bathroom with slippers and his and hers shower gels and pillows and blankets for extra comfort when hanging out on our own outdoor balcony. 
We also appreciated the owners suggestions of activities and Daniel even took time to draw us a map of the hiking trails in the area. We only had time to do one of the hikes but it was spectacular to hike up Mount Perdido in the National Park and see the La Larri waterfall. We stayed two days  at the Posada but would definitely stay longer next time as this experience was the highlight of our trip.

5 star everything and more!!

Fantastic food, beautiful hotel - it's worth going the distance to stay at this place. We learned about the region's food and wine and each meal was unique and tasty. Walks, swims and sights in the area were recommended to us. All very beautiful and tailored to our needs.

A beautiful escape

Beautiful spot in a lovingly restored building, making the most of the stonework with quirky furniture and decor. Wonderful linen on the beds and gracious hosts too. The food is a true dining experience at both breakfast and dinner, with set meals, each meal with different place settings and unusual cutlery. Not quite our older teenage son's choice (a bit too rural and old for him) but he too really enjoyed the food. My husband and I loved it.
