We stopped for one night in Peniscola as we travelled back home to France after a week with family in Los Altos, Oriheula. 
Hostel Dios Esta Bien is an excellent B&B situated inside the castle walls with panoramic views from the rooftop area. Xavier & Miia were super friendly and welcoming hosts during our short stay and our room had everything you need plus the bed was amazingly comfy. We will definitely return to Dios Esta Bien for longer next time to enjoy the atmosphere of all the small shops, bars & restaurants in the tight cobbled streets.
Tip.. car excess is limited in the old town area so travel light as its a bit of a climb to get up to it. But when you get there the views are AMAZING!!!



Stunning & welcoming...

We had a perfect stay at Dios Está Bien. From the very first moment we were made to feel that we were at home.

The location was perfect - in the heart of the old town and steps away from the castle. The rooftop terrace provided excellent views and unlimited relaxation. 

Our room was very clean and perfectly comfortable. We also had a small balcony that overlooked the beautiful street, which had a line to dry clothes. Couldn’t have asked for more.

There are many good restaurants in the old town, but the food was Dios Está Bien was the best! The breakfast was fantastic and the homemade bread is a must-try. The dinner options were varied and delicious. Every meal was made with love and you could taste it.

Last, but not least, the service was perfect. Every person we interacted with was dedicated to making sure we were comfortable and having a great time. 

Overall, highly recommended and we can’t wait to return!

Perfect stay in the heart of Peñíscola’s old town

Very cute place to stay. Service amazing and food too. Very close to castle. Be prepared and only bring a small bag as it’s a bit of a walk up to.  Owners were extremely helpful. Really nice to be in the old town 

Amazing B&B

We have just stayed 2 nights and did not want to leave. We were welcomed and taken care of so well. Rooms so clean and breakfast was yummy. We cannot recommend this place enough. Definitely will be back.

2 night stay

We were really in need of a restful getaway and Dios Esta Bien could not have been better. So friendly and nothing was too much trouble and great advice on what to do in the area. Just like a home from home thanks to Xavier & Miia our hosts.

The most friendly place I have ever stayed

Their top spot on TripAdvisor is deserved. The dog and I had a warm welcome from Mia and it was more like staying with friends.Lovely room with balcony in the heart of the Old Town.Fortify yourself with Xaviers’ delicious breakfast then get lost in the medieval maze. I hope to return soon and stay longer.

A delightful place

What a lovely warm welcome. Beautiful pet friendly place in the heart of the old city. Homemade bread and jams - fast free internet - air conditioned - en suite bathroom - most of all though the hosts, Mila and Xavier are wonderful.

Superb

Been here three times in the last few days for coffee, cake and lunch.  The friendliness of the owners, the great coffee and the wonderful freshly cooked food, (not to mention the luscious chocolate brownies!) is superb.  Can highly recommend.

An amazing stay for two nights at Dios Esta Bien! Mila and Xavier are two of the most incredible hosts you will find in all of Spain, no I was wrong. Actually in ALL of the WORLD!

Communication was prompt from the moment I booked with helpful tips on which train station to exit and where to catch the bus. Value of the stay was beyond my expectations!

Easy walk once you get off the bus up to the old town and to this guesthouse. It’s a beautiful place. Very safe and secure area. The entire old town is charming. 

We were greeted by Mila. She took the time to explain her guesthouse and town. She also showed us two rooms to choose from. 

Our room was spacious, comfy and sparkling clean. There is a wonderful roof top terrace to share with all guests. Views to the sea are outstanding. I was up there each day of our visit. 

We chose to have the breakfast each morning and was seated outside. OH MY!! We are both vegetarians and there was many non-meat options plus they will adapt an item for your needs. Xavier makes the bread by hand fresh each morning. It is so good!

Dios Esta Bien will be a place for us to repeat many times as a ‘date’ get-away. You will feel so pampered and it’s so relaxing there. Can not wait to return!

The hotel is well worth the search to find it as we had to park our car down below and then walk up the cobbled streets with our suitcases however the welcome was very worth it.  The couple who run it really make the hotel and the breakfast is delicious. We also loved their great choice of beers. Would definitely recommend it and come again.
