We planned to stay for one night and were able to check in after the designated time (it was midnight when we arrived). The guy was really helpful, showed us where the lift was for our cases, offered us cold water, showed us how the air con worked and gave us the wifi password. (The air con did work, contrary to some of the earlier reviews so they must have fixed it). Room is basic and the bed isn't that comfortable but it was clean enough and if you're looking to see barcelona in a few days and not spend a lot of time in your hotel room this is an ideal well-priced option in a central location.

Great location, good value for money. A friendly place to rest your head after exploring the city.

We stayed there for three days in October. The accomodation is very basic, room is very small, the bed was ok, comfortable and solid, the bathroom was old, a bit dirty and noisy, BUT the location of this pension is apsolutely great and when we realised that we are in the center of centers of Barcelona we were delighted. Plaza Catalunja, where the airport bus drops you off is 200 meters away, La Rambla is 100 meters away. And all that for afordable amout of money. Who cares about the room, when you are in Barcelona you will only sleep there. 

Excellent location

I should start by saying I had to book this a week before my stay after realising the carefully research hotel of choice had not confirmed my booking, as Chelsea were playing Barca cheap and cheerful central beds for the night were few and far between.
I will begin with the positives - this Pension is in an excellent location, less than 5 min walk from Playa Catalunya and 2 doors from a large modern supermarket. Outside is a square with coffee bars and a few restaurants where you sit inside or open air and enjoy a drink.
We first arrived (as directed by maps) to a door and 4 flights and tiny stairs - luckily at the top we were told about the private lift so did not have to do this again. there are ramps throughout the Pension so in theory this could be accessed by someone in a wheelchair (it is tiny/tight though).
The room was as basic as it comes, one towel, shower & toilet, double bed, one plug socket and a wardrobe but if you are fussy like me about having your own bathroom it is a cheap option.
The staff were all working hard painting and carrying out renovations but all were friendly, we were asked to pay cash on arrival which is not usual but we were ok to do so.
One point to note is that the walls are incredibly thin, and whilst I was pleased the couple next door were having such a lovely trip it did interrupt my sleep!

Terrible experience.
The place doesn't have a official entry, so the owner welcome you at the back whispering something and let you in. Place is awful, looks like is not even legal as the rooms have a extra door built on and you basically enter from a terrace. Staff don't speak English and a terrible Spanish. Room is dirty, old, bathroom full of mold and a dirty useless fan on top of the room.
Not even 20 minutes we experienced a very scary fact on the ramblas ( we got robbed) we went upstairs to to leave immediately asking for refund or at least something back as we didn't even almost enter in the room, but the owner just ignored us and let us go without not even help us.
Terrible place, terrible room, terrible staff. Not recommend at all.

Look somewhere else. Very bad!!!!

The description on booking.com states this is a guest house, NOTHIS IS NOT!! This is a hostel. I have nothing against hostels but if I knew this I wouldn’t have booked it. Dirty bed sheets, a fan that doesn’t work, a hole in the ceiling for the air con, dirty floor, no reply from the property when I complained and it is now a week later. Luckily this was a one night stay,

Disappointed to say the least. This was my 50th birthday visit to Barcelona

My wife and I had booked a stay for four nights and we knew this was not a high-class establishment, which we had booked solely on the basis of price, so our expectations were low start with. However, it was even worse than expected. The room was small and not modern; for example the show cabin was so small that a person of plus size would have problems entering. The two worst things were the bed and the almost complete lack of sound proofing. The bad was so bad that my wife could not sleep at all. Of course it didn't help that the people in the room next door stayed up half of the night talking, which could be heard clearly in our room.

Even though we had already paid €290 for the room, we decided it wasn't worth the agony of staying, so we left for the nice and comfy Ibis Centro.

Worst hotel experience ever - we left after one night

As the saying goes,’You get what you pay for’. I selected this place as it was close to La Rambla and Pl Catalunya and I only wanted one night. There was not much around at a reasonable price at the time. We only got one bath towel and when I asked for another one I received a small towel. (Not good quality)There was no hand towel or washer. One container of soap on the basin and nothing in the shower. The bed was terrible, we could feel all the springs in the mattress. I am not sure how this place passes as satisfactory accommodation. The entrance was very dirty and looked derelict. The only positive was its location. I cannot recommend this place.
