As hosts not home until 9PM I had to find someone with a cellphone to call the designated person to let me check in mid-afternoon. Other than that my two night stay was fine. The bed was comfy, the table and chairs not so much. Kitchentte was well equipped and had a few staples - sugar, spices, etc. Convenient street parking out front, and a small grocery store two blocks away, although much better supermarkets in Jaraiz de la Vera 10 minutes drive away. No problems with noise as complained of by others.

Clean, budget accommodation on the outskirt of town

I booked 2 nights at Hostal Yuste as it has good reviews on this site, it is basic but cheap - €22 per night.
The Hostal is the first building on the right as you enter the village so easy to find and you can park outside for free. The landlady lives above the accommodation so you have to ring the bell to get her attention. I was shown to the room and I was the only one there on the first night.
The room had 2 single beds. The bed was ok, not overly comfortable but OK. The bath was about 2 feet long so meant you could only shower realistically. The room was very small and had a table and chairs in which blocked the wardrobe door and the radiator and access to the windows - why bother! Despite only being small however the room was freezing cold with tile floors and no rugs. The landlady turned on the small electric radiator as a heat source. Breakfast is not included but there is a communal coffee machine for about 50c a cup - I didn't use it.
I had the heater on all night and the room barely warmed up, I went about 200 metres up the road in the morning to the little shop which is convenient, then remembered I had left something in the room, I returned and the landlady was in making the bed, I told her it wasn't necessary but when she left I noticed she had turned off the radiator and opened the window wide - making the room freezing cold again.
That night I put spare bedding off the other bed on the floor from the other bed to keep my feet warm when I went to the bathroom. It was Friday night and all rooms were now occupied, the walls are paper thin and you could hear every conversation, TV set and fridge humming in the rooms, and all the occupants were young and noisy. The occupants in the next room to me came crashing in at 01:30 and put the TV on full blast and left it like that until gone 3am, no amount of banging on the wall would get them to turn it down, I had to drag the bed to the opposite wall so it wasn't so bad - it didn't help much. It was the worst nights sleep I had in a 4 week trip and I would not go back there. I booked through booking.com and saw on my credit card that the hostal took a deposit of €5 which the landlady did not deduct from the bill price but I showed her the bank statement on my phone and gave her €5 less. Be warned!
