This fully equipped apartment is slap bang in the middle of everything 
Not luxurious but has all you need for a few days visit
Make sure you phone to arrange check in about an hour before you arrive
Check in was great with the lady giving all the information you need.. And more
BTW, supermarket is a one minute walk, just turn right when you come out the front door 
Also, a great Chinese takeaway right opposite

I dont even know where to start.... i guess with you would have more freedom in Madrid prison..

day one: four to five phone calls about noise from the rooms we rented and two of the four to five we were not even in the room.

so apparently this women (anka) has noise detectors in the rooms and even by having a conversation with the people in your room can set these off but it gets better snoring can set these off hahaha....

2 of my party had been out around the city all day and decided they were going to head back for a quick rest before going out that night. 9 pm comes and one of the party is awoke by are door been banged down, he gets up from bed and answers it to be greeted by a screaming Anka and the policia about noise.... all anka was worried about was getting us kicked out and keeping are 4 figure deposit. The Policia then informed us and her that we had payed for are room and payed the deposit and clearly the two guys were asleep not making noise that she could not kick us out with no where to go for the next 2 nights but the informed my friend that if there was anymore complaints that he would spend two to three days in jail and waved the handcuffs in his face. Low and behold the phone calls stoped from this women from then on.. 

This left alot of my party on edge when being at the apartments that the mood was killed instantly for the rest of the trip..

Now fast forward to the day of check out..

Anka arrived with what i think were the cleaners (mind you they never came near are rooms for the 5 days we wer there) so inspection started and we left the property an hour later cos they were taking there time and didnt really want us there, we could tell so we headed into the city  are flight wasnt till 9pm that which anka  knew, are organiser kept in touch throughout the day and she kept saying yes everything looked fine and ok for are deposit. fast forward to 8pm, no answer, 8.50pm just before we are to board the plane she answers to tell us the room is to damaged no deposit back and on the phone and could not give a valid reason.So are trip organiser put in a dispute with booking.com and all of a sudden the next day there was a list of things why we didnt recive are deposit...

so this is in the room i stayed in they said we broke something and it was lying up against the wall in the shower but its imposible as it was in the place i left my toiletries for the weekend as the picture on booking.com showed.

Other reasons included dirty towels ye because your cleaners dont actully work so they wer never chanced or cleaned 

All and all from the moment we handed the deposit over via card on the friday we all knew we wernt gonna see it again and that all they cared about taking are deposit... if i could give this a 0 rating i would...

also anka's husband likes to lurk around the property waiting to find you on your own to get a bit of confrontation going he never opens hia mouth when there is more than one but when your on your own he more than ready to antagonise you into a fight so if you retaliate your out and deposit would be gone aswell 

all and all my sister went to madrid 2 weeks later stayed in a different apartment complex for near enoigh the same price and had a ball of a time so please if you are reading this.... look elswhere as i wouldnt wish this experience on my own worst enemy.

I've stayed in 100's of accomodations and this by far was the worst!. A large group of us travelled to Madrid and stayed here we booked out 5 rooms. Now to clarify it says €200 (per room) security deposit, which for us was €1000. We were made stand outside  on the street for over an hour before allowed in. All the rooms look nothing like the pictures. It's like the place was thrown together there is literally a shower in the middle of the bedrooms, springs hanging out of the couches and the Wi-Fi didn't work. And now we are just getting started ! So it says that the noise level had to be kept to the minimum as there is residents living there, that's understandable. The second evening around 9.00pm most of our group were out in town. In 1 of our rooms 2 lads were asleep and in my room 4 of us were sitting in the living room playing cards. The owner of the place used her own key and walked straight into our room no knock or notice and said that we were making too much noise ? Virtually impossible, she then proceeded to tell us that the apartment was fitted with decibel monitors and she is notified when it goes too high. Bit crazy but whatever we just apologised as we didn't want any confrontation as it was the second night. 20 mins later we made sure that we were extra extra quiet. The police call to the door saying we are too noisey and if we keep it up we will spend 3 days in jail.it was like they were hoping we were noisey. Everything else was fine No more complaints from them. Fast forward to inspection day. Rooms were tideyed by us and everything was in order they spent 2 hours looking over our apartments. She said everything was fine and off we went to the airport. We rang again at the airport and low and behold she said that 1 yes 1 of the sockets was broke in 1 of the rooms but every single one of us checked everything in them rooms to make sure they were okay. So she said she is withholding the whole deposit. Refer you back to the €200 per room deposit clause on the website. Obviously we contested this with her but she was having none of it. We rang the bank and what do you know she had already taken the security deposit and it is a pending transaction so now we are €1000 stuck for doing nothing wrong and was a very bad accommodation. We are not the only review that this has happened to. How do we get our money back, feeling cheated by someone that had a pre determined idea to take our deposit. Regardless of the "broke  n socket" there was still 4 other rooms that had no issues. As of now they tossed the rooms up and took pictures of it and said that we had done this. Obviously we cannot prove that they staged this but 1 thing is certain we certainly did not do it. I hope others don't make the same mistake we did. 

PLEASE READ FOR YOUR OWN INTEREST!

As we had booked a surprise trip through srprs.me, we had no idea where we were going and didn't know anything about the accommodation that had been booked for us until the morning of our departure. As a party of six friends in our late twenties, we were delighted when we got the email about our accommodation - it looked perfect.

When we arrived, the woman that met us (I'm assuming this may have been "Anca", although I didn't get her name) was very hot and cold with us. She sat us down and spoke to us like children, reminding us every two minutes not to make any noise because "the crazy neighbour downstairs would phone the police, the police would come to the door and arrest us". We felt like we were being scolded and threatened, when we had only just arrived in the country.

She then went on to tell us of nice bars/restaurants in the area - which was very helpful  and even said she'd let us check out an hour later than we were meant to on the day of departure - but would then change and go back to scolding us again. It was very tense and uncomfortable. 

She then asked for a 200€ deposit in cash, which we thought was unusually high. She got angry with us and told us that this had all been communicated in the emails to us - which we never received, since we had booked a surprise holiday and all communication had been through the company we booked through. We eventually sorted it out and managed to scrape enough money together between us.

When she eventually left, we felt very on edge and not at all relaxed. We soon forgot about the uncomfortable interaction and went on to enjoy the rest of our trip. The location of the flat itself is fantastic and the facilities, although very run down and not quite like the pictures online, were fine, as we were barely in the flat at all - choosing to spend most of our time exploring the city. We were only able to use one shower though - as the upstairs shower was freezing and wouldn't warm up. The flat, otherwise, was grand.

On our final night, we went for a late dinner and returned to the flat, tired after a busy day. We sat around, chatting and had music playing from a small speaker, with the volume VERY low (no louder than a quiet tv), as we were cautious not to incur the wrath of Anca/the "crazy neighbour" downstairs. 

As it had been a long day, most of our group had gone to bed and only two of us remained up. It was late but we were only chatting, sitting on the couches. Not jumping around, not shouting and completely sober. I received a phonemail from Anca at 00:52, screaming down the phone, telling us to "stop it now" otherwise she would phone the police. She went on an angry rant, telling me that she had worked a 15 hour day and was exhausted and that she had warned us not to make any noise. I tried to speak to her to tell her that this wasn't the case and that in fact most of us were in bed, asleep - but she wouldn't even let me get a single word in.

I was furious and it put a real dampener on what should have been an enjoyable, relaxing experience. Had the scolding we received been justified - I would have been very apologetic and accepting, but we had made such a conscious effort to abide by her rules and keep the noise down. She was unbelievably rude. I can only assume the floors and walls are exceptionally thin - because we were near enough whispering when I received the angry phonecall.

On the day of departure, we packed our bags and cleaned the flat, ready for Anca to arrive and collect the key from us. We felt like naughty school children and were sitting around, anxious all morning. When we heard a knock on the door, it was two woman that had been sent to inspect the flat before we left - and they did so in silence, while we waited for the verdict. After a couple of minutes, they returned to us and said everything was fine and then took the key from us. It was very bizarre.

The location of the flat is great, the facilities - okay, but the whole prison warden/convict atmosphere was certainly unwarranted. Perhaps if sound can travel through the walls and floors of the apartments in the building SO easily, the apartments should not be rented out to guests.

Stressful Experience - Otherwise Fantastic Trip

First of all, the apartment looked nothing like those shown in the photos. What we got looked significantly less appealing and a lot smaller. The description acknowledges that there is no elevator to the 4th floor. But how are we to know what floor we are getting an apartment on? We were assigned one on the 5th floor, which meant we had to climb up two floors (four flights or stairs) with our heavy luggage. The old-fashioned stairs are uneven and slippery, although they look nice. The terrace has high walls with no view whatsoever and is not even attached to the apartment. Anca was very business-like and was at the apartment entrance to receive us, but she was quite unaccommodating. When we asked her whether we could checkout at 12 pm rather than the stated 11 am, she said No. We asked her whether we could leave the luggage some place after checkout, she said No to that as well and pointed us to a place quite a walk away that charges 5 euros per piece. During her instructions, she threatened us twice with a 500 euro charge if we shut the door with the key left inside. Wasn't a pleasant welcome for us. Anca appeared to fluctuate between trying to be nice and being the tough landlady.

The street where the apartment is located is a narrow one-way street with little vehicular traffic and so getting a taxi to go to the airport took us over 20 minutes. But is quiet.

The location is great and that's a plus. It's minutes away from Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, and is walkable distance from the Royal Palace. Also, there's a grocery store close by. But, the negatives are significant enough that we would not be comfortable recommending this place.
