Hostal Machin is a small, perfectly situated hostal in the middle of Madrid.  I can't think of a better located to stay while in Madrid.  The staff is incredibly friendly, funny, and enthusiastic.  The room is small but has a shower which is nice.  The bed is also small and somewhat uncomfortable but still adequate for a decent sleep.  The challenge is that this hostal is right next to a club that literally has noise echoing in your room all night long.  It's now 6.20am as I right this review and I opened the window and the noise is still deafening.   The noise is slightly reduced when you close the window... but you get the idea.  If you can deal with the noise you can have a good experience here.  However, travelers beware !!

Adequate with Some Reservations

Very well located in Madrid

You can easily get there from the airiport and is just outside of the tube.
the receptionist is very friendly  and you can ask him any kind of information is really helpful

The place is really clean and cheap. You got 2 toilets which gets cleaned every day, small fridge in the room and air conditioned

Hostal Machin is really an excellent accomodation for its price. I had a private room with shared bath room and can't complain about anything. It is very clean and quite, rooms have a comfortable bed and good furniture. Bathrooms were clean and even if they are shared with other guests I never had trouble finding an available restroom as they are not so many rooms in the Hostal. The location of the place couldn't be better as you are close to the metro and every important attraction of Madrid. The staff is very kind and are really ready to help you with anything that you need.

The receptionist was very helpful and friendly and the lent us a hairdryer and gave us 2 extra carrier bags for all the stuff we had bought. Room 1 has its own shower inside the room and all rooms have aircon and fridge. Cheap and cheerful.

Great location right off Gran Vìa but a bit noisy from the surrounding bars.

We would recommend not to carry valuable objects with you since our door did not close well. the room was noisy, since walls were extremely thin and we could hear people conversation next door. clean bathrooms. nice and helpful personnel. very good location close to everything.
