Perfect spot to stop coming from Sarria. Beautiful home divided into private and dorm type rooms, we were very comfortable. Shower was amazingly strong and hot, perfect after a long walk. Beautiful garden with a lawn that was great to sink your sore feet into. Loved sitting on the chaise lounge in the garden and watching the clouds cross the valley. Restaurant, too. Given the care to the place, I am sure the food is excellent. We did not try it as we had eaten already.

Beautiful and Relaxing

Walking from Sarria. Looked like a nice place. Stopped for drinks & a much needed bathroom break.
Would have preferred to stay here than our hotel in Sarria, Mercadoiro looked a much higher standard than the hotel we stayed in.

This is a bar on the Camino de Santiago. We stopped by here as we were approaching Portomarin for a drink. The music was playing which created a good atmosphere. It was really busy, we had to nab a table and some chairs and take it into the shade. The beers were very much needed on a hot day

Came here after a long days walk and was such a pleasant surprise to find this diamond of a hostel. Beautiful food, amazing views, helpful and attentive staff. Couldn’t have been better. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Place of dreams

We were in a double room with private bathroom. It was more than a basic albergue: nice towels, comfortable bed, well equipped bathroom.
It is very quiet and with a lovely garden. Staff was very friendly and restaurant attached to it was perfect for lunch and dinner.

A nice treat on your Camino

Some take the easy path...some take the high road...some take the more challenging and scenic and authentic path and that's me!

Most pilgrims stop in Sarria in the Camino...well not this pilgrim!  There is not much once you get outside of Sarria on the Camino for a while but I found this wonderful Albergue and it was one of my favorites in the Camino!  It is gorgeous only way to get there though is on the Camino !  It is right on the Camino just past a few cow towns.  Nestled behind a private game in old growth anchor the oak trees that line the Camino.

The hostel is communal with separate showers for men and women but it is mostly bunk style sleeping quarters.  There is a lovely restaurant on site that was delicious with a well priced pilgrim menu for about $12 euros.  Wonder three course meal.

There is a communal sitting area and they provide a very basic breakfast of toast and cafe.  

So worth going off the beaten path!

Best Kept Secret Albergue on the Camino

A very special place found during my camino, i founded just by casualty, cause is merged inside the green of the forest, and it is a real paradise for perregrinos.

Has a beautiful garden , nice hostel , very clean, and kept clean, for me the best hostel so far during my travel.
The prices are good 12 euro to sleep and cheap for eating, the only problem sometime is that the card machine doesnt receive signal , so is best if u bring some cash just to be sure.
Really good service, so kind and gentle.
Time to leave the room is like 7.30 8 o clock.
I reccomend to get there during afternoon so u can chill and jave a fantastic view during sunset , on the bench or on the green grass.

We had a great experience here while on the Camino. We arrived early and were able  to have a beer, do laundry and enjoy the grounds before dinner. Dinner was very good and the outdoor setting, perfect. We left early the next morning and came across a wonderful breakfast spot a few kilometers down the road. 

Beautiful setting, friendly staff 

My daughter and I stayed here on the Camino and it is truly charming. The staff is so kind and they make many homemade desserts and dishes. They work very hard and win everybody’s hearts over. I highly recommend this darling place on the Camino. We had a wonderful dinner & met new Camino friends and the staff was very accommodating and friendly. I highly recommend figuring a way to incorporate it into your Camino journey.

Wonderful option on the Camino

Myself and my husband stayed here for one night when walking the Camino de Santiago. We stayed in a private room which was beautiful - it looked like a little stone cottage from the inside. Only problem was that the water temperature from the shower was either freezing or scalding. We had a pilgrim meal here which was excellent for the price. There are no facilities other than the accommodation and restaurant, but excellent for a stopover.
