Simple rooms in very nice setting, welcoming hostess (very helpful with ideas for hiking in the beautiful area in the vicinity) and good no-nonsense dinner and breakfast.  A gem of a small hotel without any pretense of luxury.

Very nice value and feel

we were fishing Hemingway's River Iraty - this small rural hotel is run by Marissa and her husband  - perfect in every way - charming it was, and run by a charming couple - they made us feel right at home - comfortable rooms (4 total) - we ate in most days with delicious Basque cuisine and we were a short walk to the Iraty River - we parked in their lane-way - Aribe means under the Rock - spectacular countryside and would be back in a flash - Bravo Hotel Aribe!

This hotel would be enjoyable just for the pleasant location and beautiful surroundings.  When you add the personal touch of Marisa and Fiorenzo, it creates the feeling of home with old family members.   I cannot wait to return again soon.

Heaven on Earth

This hotel is superb. Immaculate, modern while rustic, ecofriendly, and greatly located.
The owners are so very friendly and extremely professional as well as very helpful when suggesting where to go to make the most of the stunning valley the are in.
The restaurant is also great for breakfast, lunch and dinner and you can mingle with the locals at their cute pub.
All in all, an excellent experience and a very high reccommendation for anyone wanting to go to Irati to stay at Hotel Aribe. Finally, and very importantly, our kids loved it too and the hosts couldn't have been better with them!

SUPERB HOTEL AT IRATI'S DOORSTEP

Hotel Aribe in the middle of the Pyrenees is a jewel.  Marisa and Fiorenzo created the best hotel in the middle of the Irati Forest.  We were a family of twelve, ranging in ages from 3 to 83 years. Everyone had a great time.  The construction is gorgeous with great attention to details such as leaving some of the original stone construction exposed and the beautiful model wood details of the doors and frames.  The hot water was readily available and rooms impeccably clean. The dinning room and bar were very welcoming.  Wifi was the best it can be given that this area doesn't have broadband. In addition, you can have hardwired internet in the rooms.  I was able to read my email through Outlook and have Skype conference calls.  We wanted to visit the Irati Forest.  Marisa arranged for a fantastic local guide to walk with us.  His name is Koldo Villalba.  He was also very knowledgeable of the local flora and fauna as well as of the Basque traditions.  Koldo was excellent as well. Marisa and Fiorenzo were also very flexible with our schedule needs.  Some of us got up earlier than others.  They accommodated to everything.  
In sum, this hotel would be four or five stars hotel in a city.  They actually can't get more stars because they don't have an elevator to access the upper floors or this old beautiful caserio.  Otherwise, the Hotel Aribe beams with details and great services.  Thank you Marisa and Fiorenzo.

Best Hotel

This is a very nice hotel where a friend of mine and I stayed in while hiking the GR-11 trail. Marisa and her husband were excellent hostesses. Fiorenzo was nice enough to pick us up at Hiriberri, a nearby town where the trail ends, and drive us back to the hotel. The hotel was very clean and comfortable, and the food, local and Italian, was excellent. I also got to try an awesome Rosé wine from Navarra.
