We had a really nice day (we spent just one night) here. Suite "Aviru" is really big, with a little kitchen. The suite had a big terrace , the view is beautiful, and the jacuzzi in the room is a really good idea. Finally (on the reception) somebody spoke good english, and we had gluten free options to eat. 

With a great and home made breakfast!

I hope once we can come back. (Better to come with a big or 4x4 car!)

Great 1 day, with beautiful view!

We had read the other reviews about the difficult drive up, but we got closer and closer and thought "this is fine" !!!  It was just the last 5 minutes that were a bit steep and winding, but nothing toooo scary !  Honest !  4 people in a fully laden Picasso didn't make it that straightforward though

Helpful staff and unquestionabe outstandingly stunning views from the rooms.  Infact, we didn't leave the terrace for 2 days, we just looked out over the hills, watched the clouds etc and listened to the cow bells and church bells in the distance.

There was a very bad drain smell in our room which we mentioned, the staff were very quick to disinfect thoroughly with the most pugently stink I have every smelt, and quite literally couldn't breath in the room for hours and it ruined our first night there.  

We were looking forward to using the spa facililties, but had to pay 50 Euros per couple to book it just for an hour.  This was incredibly disappointing.

The decor of the rooms is outstanding, but the detail is not quite right.  Again, as with previous hotels (perhaps it's normal now in Spain) but no coffee or drinks provided in rooms.  The spa bath was a good gesture, but was very difficult to get into (unless you're a sprightly youngster!) and when laying down you can't see the hills.

My friends booked a room with a terrace, but it was actually just a walkway outside their room.  We, however, did have a wonderful terrace - just stunning.

The swimming pool was unheated but manageable, however there was loud music playing (which we requested to be turned down) which really rather ruined the atmosophere and serenity of being up in the hills. 

Breakfast ABSOLUTELY PERFECT - a very thoughtful selection of alternative offerings, not just an average continental.  Dinner was huge, but verging on the expensive compared to the other places in Asturias we had eaten.  But you don't really have an option when you are there.  However, it was very good food, and the wine is reasonably priced.  There is a fridge in the rooms though, if you take drinks and snacks with you.

Beds, very very soft and comfortable.

All in all, such a relaxing wonderful couple of days in a place clearly designed for an escape for couples.

Lovers Retreat !

Firstly, we should say that we had a lovely time at the hotel and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are lovely and the jacuzzis are a real luxury (and lots of fun for a toddler). However, we did encounter a few issues:
The hotel, as stated, is rural but we weren't aware that it is halfway up a mountain. Whilst this makes for tremendous views from the rooms and pool area (weather permitting), it does mean that the drive up to the hotel is precarious and twisty, along small roads. If your car (like ours) is not a four-wheel-drive, it is actually very tricky. We were reluctant to leave the hotel during poor weather (in August) because we didn't want to drive back up the mountain. 
The second issue we had was that the hotel, despite websites stating the opposite, isn't child-friendly. The staff welcomed our little girl, who is 2, but there was virtually nothing for her to do except swim in the pool. Given the position of the hotel on the side of a mountain, it is actually quite dangerous for a toddler, especially as many of the fences are made of wood with gaps in the design big enough for a child to go straight through (or under). The rooftop terrace also had a whole pane of glass missing from its barrier while we were there.
Finally, we were a bit disappointed to find out that although there is food and drink available in the evening, there isn't a restaurant or bar as stated on websites. Instead, in the evening, food and drink is brought to you in your room. This is a lovely treat and the food is very good but again, is not very appropriate for young children. It means you have to stay in your room all evening unless you leave the hotel for dinner (driving down and back up the hotel). This can be quite dull and lonely if you have a child although I'd imagine, great for a couple. Over the 5 nights we stayed, the bed was made every day but our bedsheets weren't ever changed even though we ate dinner in our room 3 times. Toddlers can be very messy when eating so our bed was quite dirty by the end of the week. That said, as previously stated, the room was lovely and very charismatic with a breathtaking view. But to us, the hotel seems more suitable for couples (with a 4-wheel drive vehicle) looking for a 2 or 3 night getaway. 
We cannot comment on the spa as we did not use it.
