We really enjoyed staying in La Caleta.The light and airy room was spacious with huge comfortable bed and a balcony

.The young owners is helpful and charming and breakfast is  very good

The location near the beach was perfect.What a lucky find as it is hard to find hotel accommodation in Tamariu

Delightful  small hotel in beautiful Tamariu

Simple, family business, great beach, great atmosphere, staff Luciano is great, friendly and wants to help with everything. This is a place to relax and enjoy vacation. Don't come with expectations of a big chain hotel, it's for the ones who likes the simple and great.

Great place to stay

Out of all the place's I've stayed in Spain, this hotel has the absolute BEST customer service! The staff is always willing to answer any questions or just chat with you at any point. Not to mention the hotel is perfectly situated just far enough from the beach and noise to be peaceful, but close enough to walk and be settled in five minutes.

The Place to Stay!

The hotel is located 2 minutes walking distance to the beach, it's a super quite area and there's no noise whatsoever. The service is very friendly and client oriented. Our room was very celan and tidy and we had an amazing balcony where we could sun bath. I can only recommend this hotel.

Great service and atmosphere

Our trip was very last minute to Tamariu. We noticed the hotel had great reviews and the price was low for the area. 
The positives: The first thing that needs to be mentioned is the staff, extremely helpful and friendly but not interfering. Olga gave us some great tips on where to visit, they were all great! The hotel is family run and it shows the personal touch (unlike many more expensive options) 
The negatives: the hotel is aging somewhat but clean. The beds are ok for a few nights but not long term (this could be me though as I’m heavier than most!) 
Overall a great experience, we look forward to returning in a few months!



Enjoyed our stay 

We are so happy we chose this friendly, easy place from the internet. Lots of help at every turn. And one night when we were about to walk the few blocks back to the beach and the restaurants, there was an incredible thunder storm. So we sat in  their covered patio, watched it and ordered a yummy custom pizza and the best salad I had on the whole trip. The bar in the lobby was always open- even until midnight when were found ourselves deep in conversation with guests we had just met from several different places. 
Room was clean, but patio area could use a little more clean up time. Internet spotty in the whole town I think. 

Super friendly and beach close plus yummy eats! 

The staff is friendly and can speak very well English. The room is a bit worn out but the cleanliness is acceptable. Wifi is weak so can consider no wifi at all. No air con and only one ceiling fan in the room, we kept the windows closed because of the mosquito, but still it was cool enough at nighttime. The shower takes quite a long time for hot water so maybe a big problem for winter.

It is a 5 minutes walk to the beach and supermarket Spar is 4 minuets away

A moderate choice for peak season 

We had done a lot of research and had picked this hotel to stay at during our 3 day visit to Costa Brava. A family run hotel, we were greeted by Luciano, one of the brothers who jointly run the hotel. He provided excellent suggestions of what to see and do during our three days. This hotel is a 4 minute walk to the beach which is a nice sized beach which is very children friendly. Service was great and they accomodated all our requests including extra blankets for the first night which was cold. We hiked every day along the coast directly from the beach, also went sea kayaking which we highly recommend. Great dinners at the restaurants each night over looking the sea. We also picked up food from the small supermarket just down the street for lunch each day.

Excellent service, family hotel 4 minutes from beach - highly recommended

This hotel is 3 minutes walk from the beach. Some of the rooms have balcony but there is no view to the beach. The area is quiet.

When we arrived there, Lucciano, the manager welcomed us warmly. Explained on the access and the basic breakfast the next day.

The rooms were clean. There is a fan and a space heater. No air-conditioning. We found enough towels and toiletries in the clean washroom. It took a bit of time to get warm water in the shower.

The bed was wider than any of the hotels we stayed in Costa Brava. 

Welcoming staff, clean & quiet

I don't normally travel in Europe in the summer because of crowds, but had reason to do so this year. One knows to expect heat, crowds and noise. Tamariu is not a party resort for the young who seek only to get blitzed and get laid. There are plenty of those further south.

Caleta is not a luxury hotel, which is fine by me because on this occasion I was not looking for luxury, but it was clean, very central for beach and shops, and had no major flaws. The staff were outstanding! Five out of five for their attention to customer questions and concerns! 

Our room had a small balcony, which was nice. Private bathroom with shower and loo, which was all we needed. Tamariu is lovely - a little gem of forested hillsides and blue sea. Very busy on weekends with visitors from elsewhere in Spain, and parking is an issue, albeit solvable unless you're allergic to walking. 

Noisy on weekends because the Spanish eat late, very late! - and party afterwards. But the noise was not UK-yobbo level by a long shot. 

Knowing that mosquitoes love me with a passion, I travel with my own 2-person mozzie tent for sleeping. Got bitten anyway on terraces while out for cocktails and eating dinner. Sea breezes do not enter the room from the balcony, which is a shame, but that's comes from the building's location, set back in a small cove. Our room had a  ceiling fan, which was fine for me at temps of 30°C max during the day and 20°C at night. 

Feeling overheated or not is a personal issue so not possible to cover everyone's preferences. 

All in all, great value for money, and it was always a pleasure to interact with the staff.
