This spot is GREAT! Brilliant swimming pool, location, lovely kitchen, really clean. I bloody loved Lanzarote! 

Whoever did a turd in the car park because they were too ashamed to do one in the room you were sharing with your new girlfriend: ROUGH. You know who you are. 

We will definitely be coming back!

We have just returned from an 11 night stay on the island of Lanzarote.  We stayed first at the Eco retreat of 'Finca  de Arrieta' (which was superb) and transferred for the last four nights to Tiagua 81 to be near to the fabulous Famara beach.  Tiagua 81 is very well designed and beautifully finished.  The accommodation, the beds, the pool and the sitting areas are fantastic.  The pool was surprisingly warm and we stayed in it for hours on end! Famara beach is just a short 10 minute drive away and the drive is delightful in itself. We would definitely recommend Tiagua 81 as a great base to discover the north of the island.  it is also well placed to investigate La Geria wine district too.

Special place

We stayed at Tiagua 81 for our first visit to Lanzarote and wanted somewhere away from the main tourist areas. Rubicon Cottage was ideal for us and had everything we needed. We bought food for breakfast from the local super market, which is well equipped and in the evenings, drove to all parts of the island for dinner. There are lots of recommendations in a book in the cottage.

We had the place to ourselves for three days and spent the afternoons chilling by the pool, which was fine (once you were in). The weather was a little cooler in the mornings so perfect for sightseeing. We went all over the island - there's loads to see. The roads are great and the scenery incredible. 

The children, aged 12 and 17, loved relaxing by the pool and getting up when they wanted! (No rushing for hotel breakfasts!) They enjoyed the sightseeing too, especially the trip to Timanfaya National Park, which is breathtaking.

No real downsides - though it was difficult to find in the dark, particularly when you turn off the road and are not sure where you are. We did find it eventually by parking and wandering around using the torches on our phones. The cottage doesn't have air conditioning but the temperature was around mid-20s during the day so not a problem. One night was a bit humid but the main bedroom had a fan, nothing in the second bedroom.

We'd really recommend Tiagua 81 as a place to stay. It had everything we needed, the support from the team at Lanzarote Retreats was always prompt and helpful and the housekeeper was very obliging on our last day when we stayed a little longer due to a late flight.

Great location for a relaxed family break and to explore Lanzarote by car

We were delighted with this accommodation in the heart of Lanzarote. Tucked away in a charming part of the island, the house was perfect for our family to explore all aspects of the island. The house is comfortable and has all of the amenities needed. We enjoyed being able to walk to the supermarket and also being a 5 minute drive from a number of fine restaurants. If you are keen to avoid the resort life and rather be part of a more authentic experience - then this well appointed accommodation is for you. 


Ideal location for a laid back family break 

Half an hour from the airport, definitely need a car to explore from the apartment. Welcome wine and drinks in the fridge on arrival. Plenty of on site parking. Stayed in Bermejo which had an upstairs and balcony, other apartments looked like they didn't really have many windows and el grifo is right next to the road so I expect pretty noisy. We could hear the road but it didn't really impact on the peacefulness. The cottage is furthest from the road.

Local supermarket well stocked and handy for everything you could need. Closed Sundays otherwise open until 9pm.

Great pool and sun lounger area, heated pool just right temperature cool enough to be refreshing from the heat but warm enough not to be too cold to even get in. Pool could do with a clean though as a few insects had started to build up. Used the great BBQ, bit dark once the sun goes down so maybe get some candles so you can see your food! Was reasonably quiet when we were here but if all apartments full it could feel overcrowded.

Drying area great for washing down wetsuits and bikes if you have them, also lockable. Communal areas seemed warm and peaceful if you wanted to escape the apartment.

In apartment cooking equipment and appliances were all you needed, TV also had some English TV and DVDs available to watch.
