Clean, spacious rooms with efficient, free WiFi, en-suite bathroom, wardrobe, air-con and a good size, comfortable bed. Good outdoor swimming pool with surrounding, tiled area. Views over the valleys and surrounding hills. Restaurant and bar serving all day. Plenty of free parking. Easy to find, just follow instructions! Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent food from the restaurant including local specialities. Ample portions! Very good breakfast worth every cent of the €5! We will return! 

Beautiful, peaceful location on a hilltop. Excellent value

We really enjoyed our overnight stay in this very friendly hotel, along with our 2 dogs.  It's in a great location above the village but do make sure you do some forward planning as there don't appear to be any signs for the hotel.

We ate dinner in the hotel and the set menu, 18 Euros without drinks.  The food was excellent and fresh but make sure you go hungry as the amount served was really too much to do it full justice.  We opted to include breakfast with our package, not a wise move after the menu the night before!  However, once again it was excellent with breads/toasts/pastries along with ham/cheese/preserves and omelettes cooked to order, coffee and fruit juice.  Once again very good value at 5 Euros a head.

The decor of L'Ermita Casa Ripo may be little dated and in need of modernization but overall it is great value for money and we  intend to return.

Great hillside location.

Fabulous big old house up in the mountains with fabulous views, acres of grounds to wander around, even a little chapel in the grounds. Lovely outdoor swimming pool. Great welcome from Ricardo who had little English but was very friendly and helpful. Our room and whole place. Very well kept and spotlessly clean. kFabulous (unexpected) evening meal with fantastic food and breakfast following day great too. Only reason didn’t give 5 stars is that bar (and whole place) closed from 3pm and we were sat outside on lovely terrace in sunshine and could not get anything to eat or drink till 8pm as no one around - a bit odd!

Exceptional memorable place - not to be missed!

We arrived here after a long journey to be greeted by a friendly host and his team.  Nothing was too much trouble.  The rooms were comfortable and air-conditioned, the wine was lovely and served nicely chilled and the food was exceptional.  We enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. The building has lots of charm and is clean and the views of the mountains exceptional.  

Beautiful, peaceful setting.

My wife and I wanted a room travelling to southern Spain with our dog.  This was a good choice - the room was very comfortable with quite adequate facilities and good wifi.   The weather was appalling with torrential rain and getting to the hotel was difficult - but it also meant we didn't see Casa Ripo at its best in warmer weather.  As several roads were closed there were only 4 people in the restaurant!  But the owner was very attentive and sorted out food for us which was great.  In the morning it was still dreary but we were able to see that the hotel is in quite a nice position above Vall D'Alba.  Breakfast was good.

Good overnight stop

Nice peaceful location, hotel and grounds were spotlessly clean. Superb food, but best of all was the value for money could not ask for better.
Minus point hotel was a little difficult to find, make sure you put it into satnav, or look for signs to Rural Hotel.

Peaceful location with good food.

I was so looking forward to stopping of here on our first night back through Spain to the UK, but was sadly disappointed.  Overall it is fine, a bed for the night but I was hoping for more.  Firstly it is not so easy to find with no hotel signs, not even at the foot of the drive up. Décor is dated, couple of bulbs in room not working, curtain pole hanging off.  Our room overlooked the laundry and back yard - not great but a good sized room. Staff mean well and try to be helpful but it just felt a little Fawlty Towers to us! Food very disappointing - unnecessarily huge portions of not good quality and a waiter that huffed every time he placed a plate down and even cleared before we had finished eating - did make us laugh though.  Huge potential but they're not getting it right at the moment - could be stunning with some money spent on it, decent management and new chefs.  Perfect location for stretching the legs of a lively Springer Spaniel though and some lovely walks.
