The place is indeed secluded but surrounded by nature, very tranquil and located 5 mins from Sigiriya rock. Dogs DO NOT bark all night, actually it was our quietest night in Sri Lanka, people actually pay a lot to fall asleep to the noises of birds and nature. If you have a problem with that, earplugs are available in most pharmacies! We haven't had dinner at the restaurant but the breakfast was plenty and delicious. There are little sitting places outside where you can have a beer and chat. Make sure you don't leave the doors open in your room though, because there are indeed lots of mosquitoes but nets and AC are available in every room.

Nice stay

The hotel is in the middle of nature which makes it very calm and perfect to end a long and tiring trip in Sri Lanka. 
Laithdealw as, the manager of the hotel, is at your service any time and is very friendly. 
We've had the perfect night at The Green Palace hotel. 

Great Hotel in Sri Lanka

Das Hotel ist die perfekte Ausgangslage für Sigiriya und diverse Tempelanlagen in dieser Gegend. Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig, Restaurant und Essen sehr zu empfehlen! Die Mitarbeiter und Sercive sind äußerst zuvorkommend und freundlich! Lalith Alwis hat uns bei allen Anfragen freundlich zur Seite gestanden:)

The hotel is perfectly located to Sigiriya and different temples around the area. The rooms here are large and have an airconditioner, the restaurant with breakfast, lunch and dinner are really good! The staff and the service is friendly and helpful. Lalith Alwis is always there0 when needed and really kind to us and the other visitors :)

Visit in Sigiriya 

We stayed 2 nights at the green palace near Sigiriya.  The location was great as it was close to Sigiriya and surrounding points of interest. The hotel is off the main road and backs onto rice fields, we were fortunate to see a number of peacocks passing by in the morning. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the wonderful staff and always felt our enjoyment was given first priority by Lalith. The food was lovely, we couldn't get enough of the vegetable curries, very delicious.

This hotel is a fair drive out of town. Rooms contained no tv, fridge and wifi was only in the restaurant. The rooms all contain serious mould and the smell is overwhelming. Small towel like sheets were provided so our sleep was terrible. The manager John was lovely and arranged a local dinner with a neighbour for us which was great and helped with our hotel disappointment. We were quite keen to move on from this hotel.
