We stayed in the treehouse for 2 nights. The room is small with little storage space, but clean with the basic necessities (good wifi, power plugs, mosquito net, AC, fan, fridge with water, ensuite shower room, sheets and towels). We even had a fruit basket in the room.
The treehouse gives more privacy, there is even a little terrace, even though there isn't much of a view.
The guesthouse is very central which is convenient, but is noisy on market days.
The owner and staff were very welcoming and helful. We were given great advice and tips.
What was also very appreciated was the possibility to arrange for airport pick up and tuktuk transportation to the sites we wanted to visit.
The breakfast was good and very big - great to start the day.
This wasn't isn't a luxury experience, but a basic comfortable stay and an interesting experience in a treehouse.

Nice treehouse stay

I booked a 3 night stay here, but left after 2.
The good bits: This is a small guesthouse (6 rooms), about 50 metres from the main road, the centre of Dambulla and the bus station. The owner is very friendly and helpful. He arranged a car and driver to meet me at the airport, and also a tuk tuk to take me to Kandy when I left. Both the car and tuk tuk belong to the hotel, and he will pick you up from the bus station if required.
The wifi worked well. Breakfast is served in the communal area, and is huge. Fruit, toast, hoppers, roti, curries etc, are brought to your table, and can seem a daunting task. I personally can't each that much food first thing in the morning. On my second morning I requested just fruit and toast, and was served 8 slices. Again, too much.
My room had a double bed with mosquito net, desk, clothes rail, and fan.
The bad bits: The bathroom. There was no hot water. The instant shower water heater did not work at all, and would not deliver even cold water.
The cold shower worked fine, but it was very cold water. The toilet cistern was permanently leaking, meaning the floor was always wet, with water dripping into the drain all the time.. The drain didn't smell too good either.
There was only 1 power point in the room.
The guesthouse is directly behind a produce and fish market, so can be a bit noisy and smelly.
If you are on a tight budget, and don't mind cold water showers, then this is a good place to stay.

Basic

We stayed at The Town Naturepark for one night last week and we did not liked. The room was small with six beds. It was impossible to move or open the luggage. The sheets were not in good conditions and the bathroom is very poor. We have small frogs in the shower. The photos that we have seen before doesn’t corresponding.
One good thing was that the staff was friendly.
The breakfast was reasonable. 
I do not recommend this guesthouse.

We did not liked

The place is located well and clean.

The price that I was quoted didn’t include taxes and breakfast (but in my confirmation it had breakfast included and a fixed price) so I was charged extra. 

I was also told the night I arrived that I’d get a tuk tuk for 800 rupees the next day to see what I was there for but that was given up to other guests and the manager dropped me off at Lion Rock for $10000 rupees to catch the bus back. 

In the morning I asked if I could come back and finish packing by check out and was told no, as people would be arriving.

When I came back to get my bag, I was able to use the bathroom of another room and it was beautiful compared to what I was given.

I might have been spoilt everywhere else in Sri Lanka so far but this place seemed very commercial and $ driven. 

I’m never negative about stays but didn’t have a fantastic experience other than nice guests that were staying there. 


Nice enough

We have a lot to say about this place. Everything was going really well until the last day when we had to pay the bill. We organize with them (With the son of the owner, I think they are a family) a tour by car to see the cultural triangle and fixed a price agreed by both sides. In the day we were going away we had to catch an early bus and they knew that, so we were on a rush and when we were going to pay the bill the owner (the older one) seemed a bit nervous and he told us we had to wait because he had to wake up the son because he didn’t know what we had arranjed with him. When he arrived he shows us a paper with complete different numbers. We were really surprised, because he seemed a honest person and reliable and in the end he just wanted to deceive us and stay with our money. When we confront him with the situation he told us that the price we arranjed were for 2 days and not 3 and he was giving the idea that he didn’t understand the arrangement. Off course all lies, because in the bill he didn’t put the price that we agree. So if that was true he would put the price we agreed for the 2 days and then added another one for the 3rd day. But no, all the amounts were huge. As we were on a rush to go we end up paying the double than the amount we arranjed. For that price we could have booked a proper tour with guide and better conditions, because the tour was made on his own car, with no proper ac and in the 3 day we had to go on tuk tuk to polonnaruwa (140km total) because the car was with problems he said (another lie) Such a shame because the owner (the older, the person that welcomes you) is really sweet and he is doing a really great customer service, but it seems that it’s the son that is in charge and he really only cares about money. Funny that to make us decide to go with him on the tour he said he agree with the price because his intention was to deliever a good service and not everything was about money. After all, it was everything about money. He told us he was going to open an yoga and martial artes center because he wanted to live more connected with his beliefs. The truth is that he was always so full of himself, he had a complete political attitude he promises one thing and then he do as he suits him. His single focus is really and only money.
Other negative points was the wifi, didn’t work at all and the bathroom needs a deep clean. The walls were really dirty.
