In the rural countryside near Karlstad on the edge of a lake lies a lovely old house near what remains of an old railway station, Including a real steam engine. 
In this house a typically Swedish B&B is run by a very friendly lady. Rooms are clean and well kept. Breakfast is excellent. And prices are reasonable. 

A lovely B&B

We stayed one night at the hostel and rented bed linen. It is a lovely place with a fantastic view overlooking the lake Fryken. Friendly, clean, easy to find, close to the city of Karlstad, swimming place by the lake, a small ski slope and cross-country skiing near by. You are allowed to take your dog with you and I beleive that the B&B part in the older house is as good as the hostel. Definitely a place we will return to.

Great place and so worth its price

I came for one night on a warm spring weekend and immediately decided I would need to come back for longer and with family or friends.
The couple who owns and runs this BnB are very hospitable people, who take good care of their guests and make their stay memorable. It helps that their home is quaint and charming, with its individual character, has a fantastic view over the Lower Fryken Lake, has a great porch to watch the sunset from, cosy rooms and comfortable beds. 
Located in the midst of nature there are heaps of things you can do, in summer and winter alike. Tack, thank you, Leif and Marianne, for your hospitality.
Highly recommended.

Friendly hosts, quaint and charming property, lovely spot

Very kind hosts that provided a delicious vegan breakfast. 😁😁
Clean rooms with very comfortable beds. Excellent shower.

Walls are a bit thin so we could hear our neighbour breathing and snoring at night. And the communal TV is against the wall so the sounds comes through. The thin walls are thus the only negative.

Sheets and breakfast are not included and are optional but that was ok for us since we had our own linnen and towels. Breakfast was excellent.

The host is planning to put wifi in the annex later this  year which would be super. 

Building used to be part of the first train station in Sweden and the remains of this and an old steam train can still be seen a few meters down the road where classic car fans gather on Wednesdays.

All in all 4 a nice place to stay.


Pleasant stay passing through

Quiet surroundings in the heart of Sweden. I think a great place in the summertime. Nearby salmon fishing in Klarälven and Norsälven in july, august and september.

There is a possibilty to do skiing 300 mtr from the hotel, not big but good.

Cosy and charming B&B, directly by the lake Fryksta

Place looked good. But the service was horrible. We where 10min late tal check-out. The lady bursted into our room while I was naked and screamed that we should hurry up. This even though there were NO other guests, also no people coming after us. Not recommended.
