OK, this is a bit of a longer story. We arrived in mid-August, looking for a place for the night. They would have been fully booked (for a reason), but one family got ill, and we were able to hop in. A magic place. It is a farm out of your dreams of a farm. Large gardens, fantastic people (the hosts AND the other guests!), long nights out with a glass of wine, the kids happily playing with their new pals. Most were German-speaking (also from Switzerland and Austria, not just Germany), but nobody cared. It was like one big happy family, and we stayed five days that flew by, even though we had planned one night when we knocked on the door! As for tips, check out their treehouse, you can actually stay there. Then when we left they had started to build a treehouse sauna, can you imagine! We'll not come back to Europe anytime soon, but I'd love to see it finished. And never mind the strange food picture on this TripAdvisor site - they do not have a restaurant, and I have no idea what this is about. Great place. Recommend it!

The highlight of our Scandinavia trip

We very much enjoyed our stay at Solberga farm. There was a very large garden, the apartments were cosy and we also enjoyed the other families. Very nice people and the children found other children to play with.

a very nice location for our family holiday

We visited Solberga Gård in June and again in July 2016. The farm combines accommodation, a farm shop, and a small café. If you wanted a luxurious café experience, the latter is probably not the place to choose. One travels to Solberga for the environment. You get to meet the pigs, get close to the rabbits and chicken, and you can enjoy the surroundings, buy some ice-cream. We plan to stay here at some point in the future.

Beautiful farm

The visit in late May was lucky, as we largely had the place to ourselves (room in the old mansion, but there are also apartments and summer houses). Quiet, peaceful, and almost summer temperatures. We came to find orchards (and also discovered five species about 1.5 km from the farm, with one species at the farm).

Quiet - and orchids!

We stayed in one of the three cottages on this property, middle in a field of wildflowers. Breakfast was offered in the main house - a real mansion - and we used the farm shop (bio produce) to get our food. Good location in the middle of the island. Lots of nature/bird reserves - and where there is a lot of birds there are lots of insects! Bring sufficient repellent with you! Solberga Gard offers a really relaxing atmosphere. Kids would love it. Sea bathing about 3Km away.
