I have enjoyed due to the facilities, location and welcoming staff of the hotel (especially Anne rose).  For people renting car, I would advise staying here rather than Zermatt so you can park your car at the hotel. 

Would highly recommend this hotel.

Best place to stay in Tasch/Zermatt

Had a lovely spacy room with very clean and comfortable bed. Bathroom was nice and I really liked the neatness. Breakfast was awesome, simple, delicious. They offer other mobility facilities and are a short walk from city center. Hosts are friendly. Will come back for sure!

Perfect one night stay

We spent two nights at the Welcome Täsch Hotel and we didn't regret it at all! Imagine, you pay 111 CHF for a fully furnished, clean room with a generous amount of space, a kitchenette, a balcony, parking for free (which is usually very pricy for this region), a very very scrumptious breakfast buffet (you'll get anything you desire to --> different types of bread, yogurt, cheese, meat, jam, fruitsalad, coffee, tea, juice, chocolate milk,...) and a very friendly staff! Especially the manager! You can reach the train station within a walking distance, there's also a grocery store nearby.
Please, bear in mind that quality isn't always defined by its price! I'd rather stay at this hotel again, then paying too much for an overpriced and lousy hotel room in the centre of Zermatt!
Consequently, the mattresses enbable a relaxing and comfortable sleep. In that way, you'll get all the power you need to enjoy a day in the mountains!


Best place to stay in the closer environment of Zermatt, or even better then in Zermatt

We stayed here for a night in early August 2017. Checking went smooth. It's great that you can park your car for free just outside of the hotel. Wifi works well. Price and value appear fair. The breakfast is simple but of good quality. Unfortunately, we run into a big group and it took ages to get our food. To be fair however, the host warned us the night before. Maybe it would make things easier if people will not queue behin each other as this takes a lot of time. Instead, just let everyone grab a plate and pick things one by one randomly. 

The rooms are very large with comfortable beds. Overall very recommended.

Nice large rooms, good quality, simple breakfast

I stayed there with a friend for two nights. I would easily give this hotel 3 stars for its location and convenience. The hotel is decently cheap for the area (as opposed to lodging in Zermatt) and provides free parking together with a decent breakfast (cold cuts, cheese, boiled eggs, yogurt, bread and cereal). It's only a 10-minute walk from the train station/terminal where you can take the train to Zermatt. It's a good location if you are spending time in the area without wanting to be exclusively in Zermatt. Also keep in mind that Zermatt is car-free. You'll need to leave you car in Taesch if lodging in Zermatt, in which case ask your hotel if they provide discounts for your parking charges, as they will add up!

That being said, I am giving this hotel two stars overall because: 

1) the room wasn't that great (we paid for no-kitchen and in fact they gave us a non-working kitchen with no coffee and no other basic amenities included; in fact, you will have to go to the vending machine in the lobby if you want  any - sad!).

2)  the kitchen hostess is obnoxious and rude. First off, she doesn't let you choose where to sit. I say: screw that and sit where you want before she comes bugging you. She can't tell you where to sit after you have already taken a table. That's what other folks did anyway. The first morning we were too hesitant, but the second morning we forged ahead and she wasn't happy. But why can't you just sit where your heart desires?

3) Secondly, the hostess has preferential treatment for German-speaking people! That's also quite unwelcoming and inhospitable! If you speak German, she will come to your table and check on you; if you don't, she ignores you and almost makes you feel unwanted. Being paying customers, she should keep in mind that we pay her salary! 

4) The first morning, after finishing breakfast, my friend and I wanted to pack a piece of bread for the road. She started mumbling in German behind my back. I understand basic German to tell she was complaining about us without having the guts to confront us and tell us not to take food. We left it on the table and went on with our day.  You could say that taking food is tacky: you are entitled to your opinion (especially if you live in the US: the constitution gives the right to free speech :). However, leftover bread is tossed out at the end of breakfast because I am sure you would not want stale bread presented to you the next day :). Anyway I digress! The best part of the story is to come. The next day, my friend and I went to the breakfast room, grabbed the table we wanted (with consequent mumbling by the hostess) and started our breakfast. At the next table over, a German-speaking biker dared to pack a bread roll for his bike ride. The hostess, as usual, starting mumbling, at which point this tall German man stood up, followed her into the kitchen and started discussing with her. I think it's quite rude to single out people in front of a crowd. Wouldn't it be better for the hotel staff to put a sign up informing patrons not to take food? 

5) Overall, the hostess made our breakfast experience a bit edgy and unpleasant. I would suggest her and her boss to reconsider this unwelcoming behavior and realize that bad reputation is deleterious for business!

Convenient location but RUDE kitchen staff

We reserved a room at this hotel for a night in July, 2019. On the way from Interlaken, we got stuck in a severe traffic jam at Lotschberg Tunnel, Kandersteg. However, the last check in time at this hotel is 8;30 PM, and as a result of the traffic congestion, we could not reach in time. We informed the hotel management about this, and he told us with a rude voice to stay at some other place, although he charged us full for that night. We somehow managed to book another hotel that night, obviously with higher price. 
Later we called the management again about this whole inconvenience, and he refused to compensate any amount. With the given inconvenient check in time (8:30 PM and not later), and the rude management, we suggest fellow travelers to avoid this hotel. Thank you!
