I would go there again. Easy to reach by public transport, in cose proximity to a lively quarter, quiet at night. The rooms are well equipped by in winter one may want to ask for additional heating. It was provided within minutes and worked well. Friendly, professional staff. Good price/benefit relation. There is a common area on the second floor that we avoided because of the eternal 16 degrees aircon. Many people seem not to be bothered.

My recommendation

It makes me wonder why the latest review on Green Garden Apartments (Forte Green Garden Apartments) was nearly two years ago! We felt right at home at this place, the staff were absolutely welcoming and we were allocated a bigger room on a higher floor, around nearly 50square meters in size, which is massive for rooms in Taipei! Located in an upper class residencial area called Songshan, the area felt absolutely safe. There is a grocery just around the corner, many restaurants (one located on the ground level of the building where breakfast also happens to be served), convenience stores and banks! You cannot go wrong staying here. The second level of the building, with an open atrium is lovely with free flow of drinks and snacks for all check-in guests. Cooking facilities, a gym and a business centre are available as well on the same level of the building. Microwaves are available inside the rooms. In the basement, you will find laundry facilities, which we found very useful throughout our stay. I prefer serviced apartments as opposed to staying in hotels when travelling with children for convenience. Definitely Green Garden Apartments would be our choice again when we plan to return to Taipei in the future!

EXCELLENT!!

I had a nice big room, where everything worked, and the whole place was clean. I actually quite liked the breakfast arrangements where they give you a voucher for the Royal Host next door. It's not a huge selection but the food was fine and the staff were very nice. I didn't have a lot of interaction with the hotel staff but they were pleasant when I did. The location is good for restaurants and cafes, and there's a Carrefour supermarket just around the corner. Google Maps says it's 15 minutes to the MRT at Taipei Arena, but it's more like 10, even on a hot day. To be fair, the place is looking a bit tired and could do with a refurb

Forte Green Garden

We had a good stay for our visit. The hosts were welcoming and willing to help. Free Wi-fi available, helped call taxi when we needed it and could communicate easily in English. Breakfast is served the next door. The rooms are cleaned every day, but the carpet looked old especially in the corridors. We didn't complain.

Great

This hotel is perfectly average, and sometimes that is exactly what you want when you travel.
It means that everything met my expectations but did not exceed them.  In the Howard Green Garden, the WiFi was fast and easy, the room was comfortable and provided all the requisite ammenities, the bathroom was clean, shower hot, elevators worked, small refrigerator...

I would absolutely stay here again because, in general, I like the low-key vibe.  The neighborhood was quiet, there was a pretty friendly Wellcome Supermarket around the corner.  The area was, by no means bustling, but that is fine for me.  There are plenty of restaurants, banks, Watsons, coffee shops and definitely 7-elevens everywhere.  
(Wow.  I have never imagined people could love 7-eleven as much as the Taiwanese.)
I skipped the really crappy chain-style restaurant next door for breakfast after the first day, and got some dumplings from one of the many vendors who set up in the morning along the Minsheng East Road.
A few nights, I took a cab down to some of the more happening areas and then walked back.  I was glad I was in one of the quieter, more residential areas.
Anyway...would absolutely stay again...and the price was very fair.  

Perfectly Average and I loved it

Free and fast wi-fi at this very down-to-earth hotel. The room was a little dark, and you can tell that the furniture and overall decor needs a little updating, but it was clean, the room was large, and the staff was nice. The hotel itself has no restaurant but will give you breakfast vouchers for Royal Host downstairs (never been there before, it's always empty when I look inside!). The location is very convenient especially if you love coffee as there are small shops and cafes all around in the small side streets. There is also a supermarket close by and tons of convenience stores like 7-elevens. Ask for a quiet room facing the back, though, otherwise there is a school just across the street which makes it difficult to sleep in.
