Im currently doing the Mae Hong Son loop with a buddy and arrived in Pai a few nights ago. After a night in another guesthouse with the worst beds I've slept on yet in Thailand we journeyed out looking for an alternative. After stopping at several that were just ok and hearing about Common Grounds overpriced privates (we're 28 and 33 and sleeping in dorms is a last resort) we stumbled upon Ever Green. The lady that works here is incredibly sweet and after initially quoting us 350 baht each for our own private bungalows she dropped the price after hearing we were staying more than one night. The bungalows are set behind the main house and are hidden from the sun by a variety of gorgeous trees. They are only fan rooms which I actually prefer (AC in this heat gets me sick). One of the most unexpected and amazing parts was the beds. After sleeping on rock hard singles and doubles for so long getting into a pretty soft king size bed with way above average linens was fantastic.

This wasn't the most social guesthouse so don't expect to meet people here but it's located in the middle of town, on one of the quieter alleyways so you won't be bothered by the noise from the bars on the main road. It's a quick walk away and meeting people in Pai couldn't be easier. 


Hidden Gem

Great location, super friendly, clean, private hut with a surprisingly large and comfortable bed, well placed fan and private bath.. Can't ask for much more for around $9/ night. A bit quieter and more private than the more social spots, which I liked. Each hut shares a room and the walls are a bit thin would be the only possible issue if you have a loud neighbor.

This place was perfect

We enjoyed our stay in this authentic Thai hut which was comfortable and in a great location near the centre of Pai. Coffee/tea provided each morning. It is basic (no fridge) but a unique place to stay & excellent value for money.

Authentic Thai Hut Close to Centre

Great location.  As with most places in Pai, they have huts/bungalows.  My hut was clean.  The wifi worked well.  The shower was hot and the bed comfortable.  The receptionist who also doubles up as a cleaner is friendly.  I paid 520 Baht in high season which isn't too bad especially for the location which is in a quiet soi 5 minutes walk from the bus station.  It's often fully booked in high season.  The floors are wooden and there's a terrace  at the front of each hut.  There's free coffee/tea at reception sometimes.  The walls are a little thin though.  There's a fan but it was cool the night I was there so I don't use it.  There was a duvet so I was warm enough

I stayed a couple of nights. Friend stayed next door and had to leave early and get another hotel because of the sewage smell and roach in the bathroom issues. The smell was coming out of the bathroom pipes and stunk up the whole place. I was lucky I didn't get the cockroaches though
