This pension is a great place to stay.
 The rooms are a good size with satellite tv a wardrobe for your clothes and a chest of draws, i had a double room as i like my space, the room was very crisp and clean with air conditioning and nice curtains, fresh towels and a small fridge full of soft drinks, perfect for me, i needed to come to turkey because i was getting my teeth done, so i thought i would try something different from the normal hotel, breakfast is served everyday at 9am but you have to order it the day before, it's a real turkish breakfast, you have everything on a plate, and at a very cheap price, if your tea needs topping up thats no problem. The courtyard is a really nice place to chill and watch some tv if thats what you fancy, there is a small supermarket 3 mins down the road turn left out of the pension, which sells beers tooth paste etc really all you need.
This place really did work for me Esra and her husband go all the way to make you fell comfortable and a part of there family, any questions you need to know about were, and how to get their she knows, i have been to turkey many times and stayed in some nice hotels, but there just hotels, but what you get here is a very proud turkish family with great turkish traditions at a fraction of the cost, i don't think i will ever stay in another hotel in turkey again,
And yes I will be coming back to this wonderful little gem next year to finish of my dental work.

Fantastic pension, lovely court yard,  great family ,10 mins away from clock tower

Good value if you just want somewhere to stay in Kaleici. The courtyard is a bonus. Small rooms (probably par for the course in Kaleici) but adequate. Situated in a narrow lane opposite Sultan Pension just a few meters from the City Wall above the Marina. This part has very steep streets.No taxis are allowed so be prepared to lug your suitcases. There is a fridge for drinks in the courtyard but we saw no-one eating there, We had excellent iskender in Umbrella St..We found the owner's wife efficient and helpful. A point of note: like many other accommodation hosts they RENT these valuable historic old houses in the Old Town.. This probably explains why facilities are not upgraded nor money spent on creating some sort of charm.  It served our purpose and we had nothing to complain about.

Budget pension with courtyard in Old Town

The pension is located in the heart of the old town, making it a wonderful place to stay.
The old harbour is very near by, along with many other points of interest.
The accommodation is basic, which is reflected in the price, but having said that it has everything you need. It is spotlessly clean, the air-con worked very well and the overall feeling is welcoming and homely. The hosts are wonderful, friendly and extremely helpful

Would strongly recommend

The pension has a little court/garden that is very agreeable. The pension is very well located, in Kaleici and close to the tramways and the rest of the city. Wifi was good.
We were in a ground floor room so the room was quite dark. The bathroom was small and we never really had hot water, only a barely warm water, whatever the time of the day. The streets outside the pension can be noisy.
The owner is nice at times, but can also be very cold. We informed her the night before we left that we had to leave early to catch our flight and she seemed not to want to give us an early breakfast. I proposed to cancel the breakfast to be less an inconvenience for her but she refused. We finally settled for a breakfast at 8:00, which is the beginning of the breakfast time, but her unwillingness surprised us.

Pretty pension, well located, but service is quite cold

Friendly little pension in the heart of old town. If you get lost on the way there, say the name loudly, and the owner's little boy may just pop up and show you the way. The owner speaks excellent English and called a local bathhouse she thought was overcharging and got us a discount.
