No A/C, but fans and it cools off in the hills in the evening.  I was worried, in July, that I wouldn't sleep, but in fact it did cool off and I did.  The rooms are very cleverly designed with bathrooms fitted in old closets.  I would go back.  East walk down hill into the center of Safranbolu.  Breakfast in the garden was lovely.

Lovely hotel

The Akçe Konak is an old house that’s been converted into a hotel. It provides basic necessities like a comfortable bed, private bathroom with a shower and toilet, mini refrigerator. Views of sunrise and sunset from this hotel are stunning. 

Unique hotel

Nice place very close to town center you will be very comfortable in there and very close all of touristic place and natural place and they have very beautiful view from room breakfast was nice and people always smile I really recommend that place 

Excellent location 

Felt so lucky to find this place after I had booked a different inn with too much street noise. So I walked up this quiet street where TA had listed other well rated hotels (remember one was Selvili Kosk) but Akce Konaklari was exactly what I needed. They have two buildings separated by a lovely, colorful garden where you can take breakfast. The rooms seem newly renovated compared to other hotels I saw. I chose #406 which had large windows on both sides so breezes came through. Reception is helpful although limited English is spoken. This place would appeal to foreigners for sure. And the price was just 200TL for two nights so there is a big discrepancy on the price being quoted here. Loved my stay - highly recommended!

Loved this hotel

Great central location in old city Safranbolu.  Close to shops, restaurants, tourist info office, museums...

Genuine, helpful, and sweet staff. Sevgi the manager greeted me with a warm smile upon arrival, and was always attentive to my requests (for example, hot water boiled in the kitchen and put in a thermos kettle for me to take to my room) While most of the staff spoke limited to no English, everyone was very pleasant, and a little shy in a very cute way. :)

Kerem, the English speaking staff, was polite and helpful, and really took time to answer my questions and share information about Safranbolu and Turkey in general with me.  He was reassuring when helping me with bus and taxi details, and communicated with his colleagues to make sure I was taken care of when he was off duty.  A very nice young man who majored in hospitality. His professors would be proud.

The two young men who worked the late and early morning breakfast shift were also very nice and helpful, despite we did not speak much of each other's language. We managed to communicate well. :)

The room was cozy, warm, and clean, with hot water and good water pressure.  Very comfortable bed. 

It was off season so there was no hotel shuttle to the new city bus terminal, but the hotel helped arrange taxis for me.  

The breakfast was cold items only simpler than that described in reviews during high season, but hot complimentary tea can be requested any time.  I had mine on the swing in the garden in the cold, crisp air under the moonlight. Quite nice!

The 4 stars instead of 5 is really not due to the hotel staff but the type of building and other guests (I wish I could give half more star...).  When someone smokes, the smell does waft through the building and gets into other rooms. It was winter so I kept the windows closed to keep the room warm, and so from time to time the room would be if cigarette smell.  But once the smoking stopped everything was fine.

Safranbolu is a quiet, quaint town, and Akce Konak staff made it even more friendly and lovely.

Very geniune and sweet staff

Construction noise during the day, people chatting loudly under room windows in the evening and very close to minaret and its calls to prayer at 3 am, ululating dogs all nite. Their own staff was no better: at 1:40 am 2 guys started to set up for breakfast: cutlery noise, dish noise and they would not stop chatting despite me going downstairs and asking them to please be quiet.  Bfast is a 7:30 - why cannot they set up at 7 am?!
Bathroom was minute: not even a paper cup for toothbrush, much less a glass or a cup. NO AC and small windows open to outside noise.  Picturesque can only go so far!  Bfast was the normal cheap fare available everywhere in Turkey.
