My room was on the top, with a balcony view across a parking lot to the water.  It was a bit small (European style) but perfectly equipped, well kept, and very clean, with a special charm I would rank above having more space.  Breakfast was home-cooked and wonderful.  Best of all, the people who work here are friendly and truly helpful.  The location is great - this is the old part of Cannakale and there are numerous restaurants, bars, cafes and quaint market streets - well worth your time.  I was in Canakkale to visit the Troy site and museum, but also enjoyed taking the ferry across to visit the monument to the martyrs on the Gallipoli peninsula.  The hotel is in walking distance to the ferry dock.  There is a sincerity to this beautiful hotel I really appreciated.  I would stay here again, very easily.

Charming old town stay

This hotel in the centre of town is a perfect location. The staff and family are great, and breakfast is pitched at all of those difficult modern dietary needs. The Hotel has a classic style, and has the claim to fame of the first amateur archaeologist having stayed here over a hundred years ago as he worked on Troy. Parking is not in the hotels gift, but relatively near by, and cheap enough.

Old world Ottoman charm

Historic building in the port area. Nicely renovated. Rooms with views are really nice. Public parking lot in front of the building. Very lovely breakfast. Walking distance to everything. No elevator, lots of stairs if that is an issue. I will happily return. 

Great choice in Çanakkale downtown

This is a lovely hotel that oozes history in its decor, furniture and architecture. The stunning entrance hall greets travellers with a wide-open area that is both warm and elegant. Staff is quite helpful and congenial. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is delicious - full Turkish with eggs, tomatoes, cucumbers, and lovely bread. Location is great: within walking distance of the ferry dock, small streets filled with cafes, etc. Historians will be tickled: Heinrich Schliemann, the businessman archeologist who found Troy, stayed in the hotel’s building on his way to the excavations.

Lovely stay

I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights in mid October.  I arrived very late in the evening and was greeted by the most generous and wonderful staff, who got me settled in and oriented quickly.  I awoke to a wonderful breakfast - truly the best in my three weeks in Turkey - refreshed and ready to go.  All while maintaining social distancing and plenty of hand sanitizer at the ready.  

The hotel is charming and has a great sense of history and atmosphere about it.  It is well maintained and my room was clean and tidy with a small balcony and a view of the water. 

The location is steps away from the ferry terminal and central square, so the location truly can't be beat.  The historic/tourist district is all very walkable.  The only downside is that on the weekend days it was a bit noisy as it is centrally located near a popular area in a college town.  This issue was quickly solved with a couple of good earplugs!  But all in all, I'm very glad I made the choice to stay here and really enjoyed my time spent in the hotel.

Wonderful location, great staff, delicious breakfast

The hotel history dates back to the early 20th century when Canakkale was an important port. You still have this atmosphere of the "hotel at the gates to the East" today. Nice rooms, with enough space, comfortable beds and cozy balconies,

Very authentica

This beautiful little hotel is well and truly worth a stay. From the lovely decor and rooms to the amazing staff. The breakfast is amazing and they will make it any time that you need! What a gem of a place to stay!

Old well preserved building. Picturesque, pleasant, very helpful stuff, smells beautiful, clean, best location, good price. Many restaurants and pubs around, the breakfast was beautifully served and was tasty.

Vacation

Perfectly located hotel close the the ferry over to the peninsula. Ottoman/antique/french mix of decor. AC units could do with a bit of an overhaul as they were not very powerful but other than that the facilities were good. Service very good, owners/staff very helpful. Parking is over the road from the hotel and is to be paid for but reasonably priced. The hotel organised a battlefield trip for us too. Easy walling distance of a number of seafront restaurants. Small balcony with a view of the sea from out room. Only negative was the noise from a nearby nightclub which the hotel have no control over.

Stylish little hotel

We had a room with balcony overlooking the sea, within the "old center" of Canakkale. The interior design is partly antic, partly "shabby chic". We enjoyed our stay not only due to the very friendly and helpful staff serving the reception and a great (Turkish) breakfast at table! Would visit again!
