I was really a peaceful place and the service was amazing. The accommodation was lovely too.
About the environment, lovely...
The gift shop products were amazing too and affordable. 
The food was top notch.... delicious 😋  mouth watering...

Nyore Hillside Retreat is truly an incredible place! Everything from the facilities, staff, food and scenery was wonderful! I couldn’t recommend this place any more.

This is a hidden gem! We were planning to camp at Nyore hillside resort on our way through Uganda to Rwanda but got stuck in traffic through Kampalq and didn’t  make it so far that evening. However we went for lunch the next day. The place is amazing. Lunch was lovely. Didn’t see the rooms but suspect they hold the same good standard as the rest of the place. Highly recommended!

Hidden gem - relaxed and beautiful.

This property is a gem and such a delightful surprise, nestled in the most beautiful panoramic setting.  It was simply paradise and a wonderful place to relax and unwind after a busy travel schedule.  In addition, the owner Alleyn was such a welcoming and interesting host.  We would have enjoyed spending more time talking with her. 
This retreat is located off the beaten track but well worth the effort to find it.   Nyore is such a peaceful sanctuary that one needs more than a one night stay to fully benefit from the serenity and beauty of the setting.

A Hidden Gem

Situated midway between Kampala and Bwindi, Nyore is well suited for Mboro Lake visit or as a stopover to/from Bwindi. Very well trained staff, upscale menu with good meal representation, coal heater next to your table at dinner, sooting music, garden full of flowers, excellent security, great hill side views. Definitely recommend to stay.

Friendly home

We were welcomed most warmly to this paradise retreat accomodation. Views were incredible with beautiful hilly nature. Peace and calm surrounds you all around. There were lots of flowers and birds to explore. We did hike up to the hills with a guide. The hike was splendid and the guide was knowledgeable.  Staff was super kind, providing warm and enriching service and experience. Our room Coffee was cute, clean and nicely furnished. Food was high quality and individual wishes were taken into account. You could enjoy your meal and spend time in lovely garden gazebos. Our expectations exceeded. Don't miss this place, highly recommended!

Paradise stay in Nyore

Stayed for one night on our way from Entebbe to Mutanda Lake.

What a fantastic place to stay. This place certainty deserves a couple of days stay, not a mere night. Very friendly staff and the food was amazing. The best breakfast we had for some time. 

You wake up in the morning to the sounds of birds. The cottages are surrounded by a beautiful garden and lots of trees. The view of the valley and the surrounding hills is breathtaking.

Did a 2 hour village and plantation walk guided by Jackson, one of the staff who was very knowledgeable and informative.

Value for Money.

In her 1987 hit, Belinda Carlisle proclaimed that, "Heaven is a Place on Earth." I agree with her, and in Nyore, I think I've found that place. Nyore is an idyllic, quaint hideaway, situated 2 or so km from the Mbarara-Kabale Road. We were lucky to reign in the New Year (2022) here, while seated on the veranda, tucking in to a delicious meal. The rooms were very clean and the beds were exceedingly comfortable. I particularly liked the fact that there were slippers, bottles of mineral water and clean, soft towels provided. Breakfast was delicious and very reasonably priced.

I have only two points where I think Nyore could improve. The first is that the access to some of the cottages (especially the Family Cottage) can be rather slippery in wet (or dewy) weather, which is potentially hazardous. The second point is that the WiFi failed to work, which is not particularly surprising in a rural village. Nevertheless, a stronger/more stable WiFi connection would take the place up another notch (though not a necessity as it is, really, perfect.)

Nyore is Heaven on Earth

We stayed in Nyore Hillside on our way to lake Mutanda. The lodge is just on the side of the main road, but when you reach the lodge you are completely in the mountains. The garden is amazing with all types of flowers and very cute houses. the staff made us feel very welcome and the food is great (try the avocado chicken as starter). Would highly recommend this place as a break on the way to Mutanda / Bunyoni / Bwindi or even as a weekend trip from Kampala.

Beautiful stay!

This is the best and most relaxing place in Uganda 🇺🇬 I live in country and visit this place all the time to rest in a peaceful mountain getaway! There is nothing better!!! Then Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.” Mark 6:31 NLT
