I have been in Mariupol two times over the last 4 years and this time I selected the hotel European for my 2 days stay. Very good choice. Very clean, Very good quality of internal spaces and very big rooms. Infront of the sea. The negative was the breakfast which was very little and very poor. In addition, the restaurant of the hotel although very luxury, was rather costly for not so tasty dishes. Certainly I will choose it again in the future and certainly I will not choose their restaurant.

The best hotel in Mariupol

Hotel staff is uniformly pleasant, obliging and attentive. Although check-in could have been smoother, staff -- from reception to bellman to restaurant wait staff and cleaning crew -- are approachable, responsible, and incredibly friendly without being artificially solicitous. The hotel furnishings and equipment are not brand new, equipment (AC and TV, e.g.) is not in perfect condition, but overall, the rooms are spacious and mattress is comfortable (thankfully, not the box springs offered in place of mattresses in many hotels in the region). The restaurant crew is disarmingly meticulous, as if they were caring for their own dining room and guests, changing table cloths after meals, lining new ones up with the table angles until they are 'just so', accommodating requests and checking on diners at appropriate intervals. Hotel staff act as though they had a proprietor's interest in the guests' satisfaction, although that can't be true. A stark contrast to my Kyiv hotel, where staff complained of low wages; wages can't be higher in Mariupol, but the employees are terrific. Also a nice surprise, multiple stays in hotel rooms that were visibly dirty led to a practice of wiping down light switches, handles and remote controls (to results confirming that no one had cleaned them in months); at the European, the cloth came away clean, and the room is impeccably cleaned daily. 

Check-in was a bit hairy due to a convention dating back decades, whereby reservations are linked to a specific room irrespective of whether a guest asked for that room, making registration rigid in declaring that a particular room is unavailable, even if the guest will not check in for days and did not request any particular room.

Impeccably attentive staff, reasonable and comfortable hotel

I stayed here for 6 weeks and even rented the conference room for 9 days. Everything was great except the laundry service. Sometimes took up to 5 days!!!!! I would recommend it but be really careful if you need your laundry within a normal timeframe.

Friendly, nicely appointed, very clean

I think it best hotel in Mariupol city, It could be better if exist water swiming pool but its very close to sea (Azhov sea) only cross the sea side road. The view is very good in all seazon even winter.

The location is very close to the beach with restaurant and other leisure facilities close by. Safe running and walking area, along with an open air gym close to the beach.
Reception staff were very professional, breakfast was good, rooms were OK, decent curtains keeping out the early morning light and my air conditioning worked. The hotel wifi was quite fast. The television had some foreign language channels.

A good base for living and working in the area

Mariupol in general doesnt smell very good, but the room we were in smelled awful.  It had dated decor.  The ceiling was low because we were on the top floor.  And to top it off, I got big bites all over my body.
We only stayed here a week, and it's because there was a conference in town so every other hotel was booked.
