Had a great night at the jam session on Saturday night with all the different Scottish singers and musicians.
A big thanks to all the staff who made it a really good night out. The food was excellent so a big thank you to all the kitchen staff.

Scottish Music Night

I haven't stayed here but the food is great and plentiful, a warm fire and plenty liquid refreshments to choose. The staff are also very good and helpful. The Royal is also a great place for meetings and has a great function room.

Very friendly and warm

we stayed here as a couple when visiting highland games
Hotel is in a good central location perfectly placed for all amenities.
Rooms are comfortable and very clean.
The staff are very friendly helpful and knowledgeable 
Would definitely visit again.

Lovely traditional hotel

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, 22nd and 23rd of August.
The room was nice and clean and the bed was really comfortable.
We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel and the food was excellent.
Staff were brilliant, my wife asked if there was an iron she could use and they brought an iron and ironing board to the room, great service.
The hotel put on a buffet for us, for family and friends, it was beautiful.
We will certainly be using this hotel again and recommending it to friends and family.

August visit

Booked High Tea as a Birthday surprise for 13 people and I could not fault it.  The meal was excellent,  staff were so attentive and the service was great.  I would definately recommend you trying this place for a high tea or even just a meal.  The best high tea we have ever had.

High Tea

My partner and I have eaten at the Royal before and we have always enjoyed their relatively basic but tasty food. We booked a table for a special Burns Supper menu on 25 January and we were very pleasantly surprised at the quality and good value of the meal. Highlights were the prawn and smoked salmon roulade, the perfectly cooked haunch of venison, and one of the biggest and best cheese boards I have ever had. I would have gladly given 5 stars but the hotel needs to employ more and better-trained wait staff.

Burns Supper

Stayed here with our Folk Club for our Annual Outing. Check in was quick and rooms were of a good standard for this hotels rating. Although the room was a bit dated it was clean, comfortable and warm. Good selection of toiletries and ample tea and coffee facilities. All staff were pleasant and friendly. Food was of a good standard. Good value for money hotel. Would stay again.

Good Central Location

Now part of a nine hotel chain this old traditional central hotel offers great value with double BNB at 50 pounds including free parking and WI FI.Classic rooms are freshly decorated if a little small and the plumbing nods to historic Scotland however there are plenty toiletries,tea/coffee making and a flat screen tv.Public rooms are spacious and warm staff friendly and attentive.Breakfast includes fresh fruit,local raspberry jam and the biggest full Scottish I have ever had

GREAT VALUE

An  amazing  lunch  offer  for  all,  including  non-residents.-  Two  courses  for  £10,  add  a  third  course  for  an  additional  £1-00 !  This  seamed  too good  to  be  true,  but  we  decided we  must  give  it  a  try.  The  Menu  was  varied,  and  the  portions  of  the selected  dishes  were  most  generous.   Pleasant  bright  room,  very  friendly  staff,  good  food,  at  very  good  prices - what  more  could  you  ask ?

Amazing  lunch  deal

Ate here numerous times before and enjoyed every meal we have had. Family gatherings or meals with friends was always a hit. Plenty cheerful staff and local staff who knew you as a customer. NOW.... we’ll a lot has changed over the past year. New management who honestly couldn’t care about any feedback or comments given. The food is still 100% as the head chef has not left as I gathered from staff. The current staff have no correct attitude for the job and too bus chat amongst themselves rather that seat/take orders and clear plates. We were actually up and paid before we got offered a sweet as they took so long to clear the mains. Staff don’t seem interested and the place is rather grotty looking. Service is on point with weatherspoons
