I agree with previous reviews.  We had the ground floor with no view.  We did not have a car and needed a 14 night stay in walking distance of Coronation Rd in Southville, not easily handled by the likes of AIrB&B.  A hotel would have cost much more and been a much longer walk.  Lots of food options nearby.  Large grocery stores are a 15 minutes walk, one small convenience store about 5.  Only minor issues were a rather dated shower control which was not easy to use and the small sofa was due for a changeout.

Good price, good location, very quiet

I have a bias towards serviced apartments: they tend to better, more comfortable, accommodation and more freedom and flexibility for lower prices without the (expensive) unnecessary paraphernalia (luxurious entrances and public rooms) that hotels provide.  The Cleyro Harbourside apartment did not disappoint.  The apartment offered a bedroom together with bathroom and a big well equipped kitchen/living area, all of which were modern, well furnished and decorated and very clean.   Unlike most hotels in my experience the (free) wifi was excellent.  

It does not offer any food, but at the cost of stocking up with some bread, milk and cereal, this at least avoids the outrageous charges typically made for hotel breakfasts. 

Our apartment was on the ground floor with no views (which we were alerted to in advance), in a modern development which was not lovely but had the advantage of being very quiet at night.

The location is next to SS Great Britain and a short walk along a diverting harbour to the centre of the city which is packed with famously good restaurants.  I would particularly recommend the Olive Shed with brilliant tapas and larger plates at a mid level price range. The M-Shed Museum near by is free, brilliantly presented and fascinating.  The apartment is also close to a quirky but charming 90p cross harbour ferry which takes you relatively close to the nearest Tesco  Express to stock up with breakfast needs.

We did have a problem with one of the alarms during our visit.  However I am pleased to report that this was resolved to our entire satisfaction, by a combination of our local  contact Zoltan (who was excellent) and one of the Cleyro owners who telephoned me directly to ensure that the problem was dealt with.  I would be happy to recommend Cleyro more generally as a result.

As a broader piece of advice we stayed in Bristol as a base to visit Bristol and Bath which is a short distance by.  While Bath is drop dead beautiful, Bristol is a fascinating city in its own right and with better accommodation and restaurants.

Good alternative to full service hotels

I was attending a conference at the Bristol Grand and I booked in for two nights at Cleyro.  Much better than the hotel. Clean, nicer place to stay.

Good places for breakfast nearby. Nice and quiet. My colleagues stayed at the hotel which was cold awful an noisy as well as expensive
