This was our third night on our coast to coast walk. The owner, Roz, is very friendly and helpful. She greeted us on checkin around 4:30 and showed us to a heated drying room at the back of the building where our wet gear could dry. The room was nicely decorated and reasonably sized with a nice bathroom. The b+b does not have a restaurant but there is a tea-room next door and two pubs with restaurants within a short walk. Roz gives you a key to get back in after walking back from the pub - take a torch.

The b+b is right on the coast to coast path on no extra walking!

If you arrive early, the tearoom next door is very good, we even managed a quick pint at one of the pubs before check in.

The breakfast was excellent with fruit, yoghurt and a good choice of freshly cooked breakfasts.

Lovely b+b with friendly owner

We had a very warm welcome when we arrived by the owner. Room bathroom were very clean, tidy. Room was spacious, but bathroom was a little on the small side! Breakfast was superb. Roz also had great facilities for drying off our wet walking clothes. Would also recommend the Fox and Hounds for food. Would definitely return! Thank you!

Lovely setting!

Gorgeous place. Spotless and welcoming. 
Shown to our room which was like a bedroom from a cosy cottage. Bathroom was huge and nothing too much trouble. 
Breakfast was great and a packed lunch had men ordered and was ready for us.

Gorgeous Place

A spacious and welcoming b&b very conveniently located for the coast to coast. Well organised for walkers and any visitor. Good sized room. Quiet location. Close to pub and good breakfast that set us up for the day.

A welcome first stop one coast to coast

This lovely house is situated right next to fox and hound pub. Excellent decor. Really comfortable bed and the shower was amazing ( everything in the bathroom for a guest to use was outstanding) 
The only downside was that our room was on the bottom floor right next to kitchen. So if fancy a later breakfast as you want an extra hour in bed then don’t bother. Take the early brekkie as you will be roused by the smell of bacon and the hustle and bustle of the kitchen.
Not to bad as you really want to be up and about in this glorious setting.
Breakfast was also delicious and filled us up nicely for our day of hiking.

Ennerdale Bridge

Stayed here whilst doing C2C , friendly welcome from Rosaleen, beautiful bedroom,. and en_suite,.  Great breakfast!!  Had a  drink at the Fox and Hounds, which is community run!  Would recommend!!Thank. You Rosaleen and Billy!

Stayed here for the Coast to Coast walk. Easy to find as you enter the village and close to the Fox & Hounds for an evening meal. Warm welcome, excellent Boot Room to dry out. Cozy, clean rooms and comfy beds. Hearty breakfast and nice packed lunch. Thank you!

Best place to stay for walkers in Ennerdale Bridge.

Beautifully decorated and appointed rooms, superb en-suite facilities, friendly welcome and substantial and quality breakfast, very tasty. 

We enjoyed our stay here handy for Fox and Hounds pub for evening meal.

Great place to stay if doing Coast to Coast walk

We stayed for two nights at the Pillars and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The B&B was clean and well managed. It was very cosy and we felt at home instantly. Owners Ros and Billy were lovely and welcoming. Breakfast was cooked to order and of good quality. There are two pubs just a stone's throw away. We would definitely recommend Thorntrees and we will be back visiting soon.

Stayed one night in twin room while doing the c2c walk.covid procedures in place on arrival. Boot room to rear. Rooms clean, tidy, and modern.
Bit quirky for room Grike's as the bathroom (which was modern spotless and with a full size bath) was actually separate from the room across the landing!
Great full English breakfast.
Owners were friendly and chatty and would like to wish Roz a belated Happy birthday.
