Booked the Parkside for a birthday meal for myself and my husband. We were very impressed by the service and the menu range, especially the gluten free options. Nothing was too much trouble. This was one of the nicest meals out that we have had in a while. Will definitely be returning.

Outstanding service

Wow , great place, lovely staff, good rooms some with views across the cumbrian fells , breakfast really good , all quality food , we were there to see a great band acoustic odds ..fantastic, music on regularly, couldn't fault anything  , plenty of parking too , we'll definetly be back 

Gem of a place 

We booked a stop over here whilst we had plans for walks around Ennerdale and Loweswater lakes. 
We had to park on the main road as the small carpark was full but it's a wide road and the parking is within a large layby area so really not an issue.  Easy check in at a dedicated desk, nice room with stunning views and pleasant atmosphere. Our room did face the road and whilst there was some occasional traffic noise early morning it didn't bother us. 
We had a lovely evening meal here, excellent food and massive portions. The breakfast ordering system worked a treat too, you submit the night before and select just the items you want. It was all perfectly cooked by a really friendly chef who also does the front of house greeting at breakfast. He genuinely seemed interested in engaging with you which was a pleasant change compared to some of the bigger hotels we've stayed at recently. 
The jewels in the crown at this hotel really are the staff, they all seem to have multiple roles but they honestly cannot do enough for you. They're all an absolute credit to the hotel and should be incredibly proud of the work they do there. Thanks for a lovely stay, would highly recommend. 


Hidden gem with excellent staff

My husband & I have visited the hotel a few times this week & have found their customer service excellent each time. We have made enquiries to eat or have just a cuppa. We have now met Kirsty, Dan & Ben so far. All have been very helpful. The food whether lunch or dinner has been excellent. I had been worried about battered fish but Kirsty checked with the chef & he was happy to not batter at all & grill. It was a lovely meal. Can't rate Parkside highly enough. The staff & meals are a credit to Management. Thank You!

Lovely customer service & food

We stopped to get a beer and liked the look of the food. So we popped back later for some dinner.
My wife and myself had the sirloin steak and it was really tasty, cooked to perfection and the right size portion.
The staff were really helpful and a pleasure to be around.
If we ever holiday at this side of the lakes again it will be on our dining list for sure.

Cracking steak

Great place: very comfortable room with desk and good bathroom, good menu and tasty food, good bar but best of all very friendly, helpful service from everyone I met. They couldn't do enough for me . Thank you!

3 night stay

The hotel is great, management and staff very welcoming cannot do enough to make you’re stay special. The food is brilliant. We had breakfast and evening meals. Generous servings the food was delicious.  The rooms are a great size and plenty of hot water for the showers. Beds really comfortable. Lovely location . Brilliant place to stay.

Weekend Treat

Absolutely loved our stay at The Parkside which was welcoming, cosy and spotlessly clean.  Our room was so pretty with lovely fabrics and textures, just like home from home with the most comfortable bed ever for a superb night's sleep.  The food was delicious and well presented with an excellent menu selection and the best breakfast I've ever had in a hotel. Add all this together with the fabulous staff, we had a superb stay at The Parkside Hotel.

HOME FROM HOME

Booked for a meal last minute for my daughters birthday, great variety of food on the menu, all 3 meals we ordered were perfect, and the service was 5* as it was booked last minute we were unprepared for it being a birthday meal but the lad behind the bar sorted a candle out for us and brought it out to my daughter with her dessert which she also demolished! Would definately recommend!

Last minute family meal.

Food was really nice and clearly home made, a good selection on the menu to cater for everyone, portions generous and the service was great!. The pub was busy and seemed to be popular with people eating and just enjoying a few drinks but it wasn’t rowdy, still a restaurant atmosphere.
