Everything you would want from a short stay in a B&B. Very clean, comfortable bed, hot shower, lovely breakfast choice and a nice, friendly welcome and stay.

Special mention to the pillows and thick, luxury towels!

We were very well looked after and would definitely stay again if we were in the Penrith area.

This B&B is everything you need!

The greeting from Lynn was lovely. The B&B is decorated to a high standard and everything smelt and looked and indeed was incredibly clean!

The bed was soooo comfortable and the breakfast in the morning was delicious!

I know there’s rooms without an en suite but if a group of you go then can’t imagine this will be much of an issue if you each have rooms. 

B&B itself is a short walk from the town centre and the train station. I believe there’s on street parking and Penrith is a great base for adventures to the rest of the Lakes.

Would absolutely stay at Eden Gate again!

Lovely comfortable stay

Everything about Eden gate is top-notch, we are very hard to please but couldn’t fault anything here, the whole place is beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. Safe off-road parking and close to town, full facilities and the most amazing Full-English breakfast. Very friendly owners Lynne and Dave made us feel very welcome, we can highly recommend it and are looking forward to visiting again in the future.

A real jewel of a guesthouse

we stayed in Eden Gate for a couple of nights in august. The staff were absolutely lovely and the B&B was extremely clean. The rooms were perfect and the hosts catered for any needs. Centre of Penrith it was ideal.

Great short break

Myself and 2 friends stayed here as we were taking part in the Lake District Macmillan Mighty Hike. Perfect location. One of the cleanest, tidiest and beautiful B&B’s we have ever stayed in. The beds were so comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. The owners were wonderful and there hospitality was first class. Brilliant location if visiting the lakes. Thank you for an amazing stay and we will defo be back.

Amazing B&B

Fantastic guest house in an ideal location, lovely hosts, spotless house,  very well equipped rooms,on site parking and a truly excellent breakfast. We highly recommend Eden Gate to anyone visitingthis area, everything was first class.

Excellent in every way.

We spent one night at the Eden Gate and really enjoyed our stay. The owners were very helpful and communicated with us before our stay about the extra measures they were taking because of Covid. They had secure parking at the back off the road and it was a very quiet area. The room was very clean and cosy - the addition of a blanket and tea/coffee/hot chocolate making facilities was lovely. The ensuite was a good size and the shower was very powerful. Whilst they are not offering a hot breakfast at the moment, we had a lovely continental breakfast brought to our room with coffee, juice, fruit salad, yogurt, croissants and bread rolls for smoked salmon. We were very impressed. It is a central location in Penrith with M&S food hall a couple of minutes away and also number of pubs in the area - we opted for Dockray Hall. We would definitely recommend to those wanting to visit the area.

Lovely stay, would recommend!

Stayed here with two friends in a triple room as we were cycling the coast2coast. We arrived soaked, knackered & miserable lol! Our bikes were put away by Dave in a secure lock up and we went to our room feeling sorry for ourselves! The room was simply fantastic. Shower was really good, lots of tea&coffee and the room was a good size and clean. Lyn, (owner) then dried our wet clothes ready for the next morning. Furthermore, the breakfast served was out of this world along with plenty choice for our vegan friend. Could not recommend this place any higher and we will definitely be staying again next year. 

Exceptional *****

We have just spent two nights at the Eden Gate and had a really lovely time. The owners were kind and helpful throughout, and nothing was too much trouble. We had a good choice for breakfast, which was lovely and freshly cooked for each set of guests. Rooms were immaculate - really clean and cosy. We had an attic room which might be a challenge for very tall people but was fine for us average height ones! Good ensuite with plenty of hot water and a good sized shower. We thought it was good value and would definitely recommend and re-visit. Excellent!
