THIS PLACE....without doubt one of my favourite places we have ever stayed in. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by Elaine the most kind friendly sweet and friendly person ever, nothing she wouldn’t do to make this stay amazing for us, giving us great ideas on where we should go and what we shouldn’t miss out on while we were in the city. The breakfast was to die for just exquisite. The atmosphere is so special here there was a scent of magic in the air if I was to be truly honest. The room were stunning, it really felt like home for us. It is also a walkable distance to everything it was just perfect! All respect for everyone who works here behind the scenes too, a true sample of excellent hospitality. I can’t wait to come back here! Thank you so much, Paula and Conleth.

Love love love this place!

We stayed with Elaine for 3 nights over a busy weekend in Edinburgh. Elaine could not have done more to make us feel welcome. She fitted herself around our arrival time, recommended places to eat and ensured we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We had Room 2 at the back of the house which was incredibly peaceful ( especially being in the heart of the city) and very comfortable. Breakfast was a delight each morning. You can walk to all the major sites from the house, but if your feeling a bit weary then many buses go past the house and the end of the tram line is just up the road . We will definitely return to stay with Elaine in the future. S&P

Peaceful haven in a capital city.

We are just home from a wonderful four night stay at 2 Hillside Crescent. We choose this gem purely because it was just doors away from our daughter’s student residence, and it’s great location but  I would never stay anywhere else in Edinburgh now. From the moment we arrived Elaine made us feel at home and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in room 2 on the first floor and were blown away by the beautiful, spacious room and bathroom. Spotlessly clean and the bed was one of the comfiest I have slept in. Elaine is so friendly and obliging, and the breakfasts are delicious. Homemade granola, porridge, homemade bread and whatever else you fancy, cooked to order.  Elaine also allowed our daughter to share breakfast with us at no extra charge. Best B &B - exceeds 5 stars in my opinion. Thank you Elaine we will be back.

Excellent in every way!

A very pleasant guest house to stay at over Hogmanay. Conveniently located for access to the main attractions, plenty of local restaurants and pubs in easy walking distance. The accommodation is excellent, very well looked after, the breakfast is delicious and both Elaine and Anna work hard to make you feel welcome, very enjoyable stay, definitely recommended.

ELAINE is the epitome of charm!

She has hosting down to a honed art form!

The beds are so comfortable you just want to stay in them!

But then there is the gorgeous breakfast to tempt you to get up!

While every place we stayed in Scotland was worth 5 stars, Elaine and her lovely B & B managed to exceed the 5 star designation. Elaine was warm and welcoming and we truly felt like personal guests in her home. The room was large and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and specious. The breakfast was delicious! When we had to leave at an early hour to catch a flight elsewhere, Elaine insisted on making us whatever we wanted for an early breakfast. Thank you, Elaine, for your gracious hospitality.
