Worth every pence!
I stayed at the Ritz Carlton Edinburgh on a business trip this week. I was given the super king room which had a living room and a bedroom. There was also a huge glass window that overlooked the city. I was greeted with silk pyjamas, a bottle of whiskey, and a box of chocolates upon entering my room

Good Value, Lovely Staff
Lodging in Edinburgh is quite pricey, and I found the Eliza House to be a good value for the offering. The location was very convenient and walkable. For people who do not live in a walkable city, it was a bit jarring, but once we figured it out, it was easy. We did have a few instances were we took

An ok hotel
Positives: The staff were lovely and very welcoming. The room had complimentary tea and coffees and then in the mornings they had breakfast snacks in the foyer. I really appreciated that they didn't charge us an obscene amount (we had come up for taylor swift) like some other hotels and had kept the

Fair Stay
This was clearly once a nicer hotel, but it's now rather shabby and needs some updates. I slept well enough and the room was spacious. Maybe it was just my room, but but the room didn't look like the photo on the website; it looked familiar but as though someone had gone in and taken out the nice th

An okay stay.
The hotel is a bit tired. Our bathroom had no door handle on the inside so everytime I needed to go for a number two, my partner had to slam the door from the outside. The carpet in the hallway smelt really bad, I think someone had been sick on it and it was still smelling after being cleaned. Th

Nice just to touch base as a bed!
The room was clean and beds were comfy! For our two nights we managed to get a decent nights sleep on both nights! We only used the rooms as a base to sleep so found it fine from that point of view! Although the hotel is in an old building and could do with some renovations! Our rooms was damp and s

Cheap and cheerful
Three of us stayed in a room for a night. It is cheap and cheerful and really handy if staying over for a night. We stayed, after a gig at Murrayfield. Lots of choice of bars close by and handy for train, tram and buses. It was clean and comfortable so that was the main thing for us.

Okay for a couple of nights
We stayed here for two nights and it was adequate but wouldn't stay again. Our rooms were on the top floor and one flight of stairs were narrow with no light. The shower is probably the worst I've ever experienced! They put some shop bought pastries/flapjack out as a breakfast but nothing else.

Cheap but shabby rooms
Good location with a low price and friendly staff. But the interior is shabby with a bath that could use a good cleaning with bleach. Breakfast is coffee and packaged pastry and granola bars. As we found in most of Scotland and Ireland, there is no air conditioning and no top sheet and it was too

Only good for the Fringe, and that's if you can't get anywhere else
Booked this for the a few nights at the Fringe due to everything else being sold out months and months in advance.
I booked this 11 months before my stay and it was one of the few in Edinburgh Central that was available. Room was about £100 a night but it's Edinburgh in August so unless you're look
